Excellent value for money hotel in a fantastic location just a few minutes walk from Athens’ most visited spots. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and spacious and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. No tea/coffee making facilities but I don’t know if that’s normal in Athens, but there is a fridge and great air conditioning. Then roof top bar in their sister hotel Plaka is well worth a visit. Highly recommend.

I don’t know if it was because my flight was late and I checked into the hotel early in the morning. The room was arranged in the inner circle on the first floor. The window was in the patio. I couldn’t see the sun and the sky. The air was not good. The bathroom door got stuck once and couldn’t be opened. I have claustrophobia. I felt very bad👎, but the front desk responded quickly and tried to help. The restaurant is in the basement and there is no sunshine for breakfast. The breakfast is quite satisfactory. Freshly ground coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice are extra points. The hotel is very small, the front desk people are very nice, and the rooms are very new. The location is good, but it is recommended to take a taxi when checking in for the first time. It is difficult to find the location in the alley. The alleys in Athens are all crooked. After getting familiar with it, the location is very good👍

Though most of this establishment are private rooms, I stayed in the 8-person dorm, so that is what I am reviewing. While this hostel was very clean and well serviced, it isn’t as good as some other hostels I’ve stayed in recently. The beds were not the most comfortable, though I did sleep alright on them. The beds are completely in the open, so there is absolutely no privacy at all. Also, there are limited electrical outlets, so, depending on how busy it is, you might be fighting for plug space (fortunately the dorm was less than half occupied during my visit, so it wasn’t much of a problem). The dorm does have one, ensuite bathroom, which I imagine results in queues during the busy season, however it is very clean. Lockers are available outside the dorm room for your bags/valuables. The dorm is located on the second floor, over streets which are quite busy late at night, so you will hear the din from the crowd below (light sleepers beware!). Two of the best aspects of this hostel as it’s location and rooftop terrace. Five minutes walk from Monastiraki Square, everything you want to see in central Athens is a stones throw away. The rooftop terrace is absolutely wonderful, with magnificent views of the Acropolis and the old city. A great place to enjoy a few beers in the evening (and a killer sunset), a coffee in the morning (with a terrific sunrise), or just catching some rays in the afternoon. See photos. For the location and terrace alive, I’d stay here again…but would probably opt for a private room.

Dave's Hotel Athens is a great hotel for those looking to experience a new type of hotel with there cool industrial look. I had seen some questionable reviews, which left me with some worries surrounding the hotel and its location. I am happy that I gave the hotel a fair chance to impress me, The gentleman (Sadly missed his name) that welcomed us was extremely kind and happy to help us and do what he could to ensure we were happy. We stayed in room 802, This was a lovely room, a little small for a long stay but for the 3 days we had booked it was more than comfortable. We loved the little quirks in the room with red lighting, record players, and many more. The TV had a good range of channels and the bed was extremely comfortable especially the pillows. The only negative was the aircon that was controlled by a receptionist and was a pain to get keep calling to get it correct temp sorted. The surrounding area was a little run-down but you can see that they are starting to renovate the area, I think in a year or two it will be easier on the eye and more appealing to tourists. A couple of homeless people and a couple of odd characters but nothing you wouldn't get in any capital city across Europe. We did not ever feel in any danger or worried about walking around the area. The hotel also had a great rooftop with a Hot Tub that was open 24/7. Overall Great Hotel to stay at I would definitely try it out for something different to experience and the price is great.

Negative points:Breakfast buffet has less variety of food. It needs to include fruit squeezer and fried eggs. Black people stay nearby. Positive points: location is very good with 2 metro stations, especially omonia where 2 metro lines interact. They are very helpful for tourist to visit interesting places like acropolis. Staff service is excellent. Indian restaurants nearby offer delicious but cheaper food.

Minus: The toothbrush holder looked very dirty, I would probably give it a deep clean. There were some signs of mold in the shower and the toilet paper holder was loose from the wall. The rain shower head lived a life of its own, very inconsistent with how the water came out, it also took time for the water to warm up. If you care about noise, don't get a room with a street view, the windows really weren't soundproof at all. The location is a bit sketchy at night. I would also recommend the hotel to advertise to people not to waste food at the breakfast buffet because there was A LOT of it by others when we were there. This is a big thing for hotels in the north. Pros: The room looked quite newly renovated. Seems like the hotel was under renovation because when we were there it was a completely different style from the breakfast room to the room. It's probably going to be very pretty when it's finished. Plus for the minibar and kettle in the room. Plus for a separate toilet room and shower room. Great view from the balcony in the room and from the roof terrace. Great, down to earth staff. Also a very good breakfast, I have stayed in many different hotels and this is one of the best breakfasts in Europe for me.

Had a fab fantastic stay at the Apollo. Reception staff are lovely . Taxi service to and from ( holiday extras cheapest I found as I Didn’t want bus £74 return fab driver both on time . This is a great central location . The breakfast buffet is the same . But who cares it’s food and it’s included . I’m not a complainer . Get on with it .fab rooftop and amazing views . I paid £330 for this including flights . Not transfer . Jan 23 . I came early and my trip was originally in March and that was £530 for same . So yeh I had a bargain. The rooms are just being decorated and it was lovely . Amazing cake shop on corner . Hop on hop off bus also around the corner . It’s ideal . I was advised as o was a solo female . Lots of asylum and homeless . They can be aggressive at times . Stay away from side streets and told not to go out in the dark . This is normal for me anyway . The sites are awsum and if u are a walker like me . Once u get your bearings . It’s got fab history . Winter is half price entries to all monuments . So Acropolis was only €10 It’s a must . The national park and other monuments are fab . I chose not to go to meteora. Delphi or the islands cruise . Simply readings to many bad reviews . No regrets . They are expensive and extremely long day . But I had a blast exploring athens .

Stayed for 5 nights, the location is perfect as there is a metro station right outside the hotel, which will take you to most of the major tourist sites. The hop on hop off bus stops right outside the hotel also, so if you are a tourist it's easy to get around from the hotel. As four ladies alone, we felt very safe and would get taxi's to and from hotel to go out in the evenings, which the helpful staff are happy to book for you. The breakfast is brilliant with lots of choices so you never get bored. We stayed in a standard room which was small but perfectly formed, with lovely decor and all the amenities you will need. The best thing about this hotel is the amazing rooftop pool, bar and restaurant. Our taxi driver from the airport told us it was amazing and many locals will go there particularly at the weekends. Staff are so friendly especially Denisa our lovely waitress, food and drinks are varied and very nice. I would stay here again if I'm coming to Athens.

GGuest UserWe spent five days here altogether. Our apartment was on the 4th (or 5th, if you use the US system) of the building, with a distant but distinct view of the Acropolis. There was a balcony, which was nice, but almost no street noise at night. The apartment was roomy, comfortable, spotlessly clean, and very modern. We were extremely comfortable there! The staff was very helpful, they gave us their WhatsApp numbers and were always available if we needed them. We loved the neighborhood: its only a five minute walk to the Acropolis museum, yet felt entirely like a regular Greek neighborhood rather than being in the ”tourist zone” of Plake. Lots of coffee shops, restaurants, etc. nearby. There was the ability to cook in the apartment although we didn't do that; but it was nice to have the coffee machine and kettle, and the provided coffee. We would certainly stay there again.

GGuest UserThis is an extremely nice hotel situated in a perfect location. Our stay and review are based on a Superior room You would be hard pressed to find an Athens hotel in a better location. You are right in the middle of all the action with shops and restaurants nearby. You are spoilt for choice. Although in a busy area we found the excellent double- glazed doors/windows kept any noises out and it was not an issue at all. Our Superior room came with a kettle and tea/coffee making facilities although that is not listed on their website. It may be worth e-mailing them if this is important to you. There was air-con but in March there was no need to make use of it so we cannot comment on its efficiency. The toilet/bathroom came with those tiny bottles of shampoo and body wash which we refuse to use on environmental grounds so we brought our own and used that. There was a sign saying that if the used towels were hung up then it was assumed that we were happy to reuse them. The cleaners replaced them daily regardless. The rooms were kept very clean. This hotel has much going for it. We grabbed a deal here at a very attractive price which included breakfast. The breakfast arrangements were in a fairly small area but we felt that a good selection was provided considering the space limitations. Plenty of fresh vegetable choices and delicious too. The Tomatoes and Cucumber just tasted so much better than we are used to. Cereals, bread, cakes, fruit and coffee from a machine. We looked forward to our breakfast every morning and didn’t grow tired of it. Minor gripes (being very picky). The over the bath shower was a mini battle in so much that it was prone to shoot water out onto the floor if you weren’t being careful. It could have been better but all we had to do was to adjust our showering habits and all was ok in the end. Our room had a balcony facing out to the street below. It would have been nice for a couple of chairs out there rather than just a large pot plant and the air-con unit for company. I did notice that no other balconies on other building had chairs out so perhaps that is just the Athens way. We had a Fridge in our room. Very welcome. A very close mini supermarket was the cheapest place we could find to buy water. E0.39 for 1.5 litres as I recall. We loved this hotel. All the staff were so nice and so helpful. I can’t remember all of their names but Irena and Eva come to mind. They helped make our stay wonderful. It had a curiously homely feel about the place. March time was a great time of the year as it was a pleasant day time temperature with it getting a bit chilly in the evenings. You could still dine outdoors but with a patio heater nearby. We loved Athens and have decided to return next March with the flights already booked. We will stay at the Plaka Hotel again. 5 stars from us

OO.N.AWell, well, well, what can i write or say about this gem. The Electra Palace Hotel, located bang in the middle of downtown Athens is absolutely superb. Everything the city has to offer is within walking distance from the hotel. The view of the Acropolis from our room is spectacular, not to mention the to ”die-for” view from the 8th floor restaurant - you can ”touch” the Acropolis from here!😄 The breakfast at the Electra Palace is top notch and is delicious. The service at the hotel is top notch, and one of the best I have ever experienced in over 30 years of travelling. The staff, from the concierge to the receptionists, and restaurant staff, all provided extremely high professional services. I will single out George, the receptionist, who made us feel extremely welcome with one of the biggest smiles and professional services I have ever experienced. George has a saying each time we interacted with him, and it was ”each time you smile, good things will always come your way.” This saying came through when George found my brand new Samsung Ear Bud after I lost it and the hotel began a whole day of searching inside the hotel and outside at the restaurants we visited. Thank you, George, you're the best. Also, Dimitris, who helped us with our luggages was fantastic. All in all, Electra Palace Hotel is a superb hotel, and we will definitely go back there.

GGuest UserLovely hotel, nice staff. Very friendly! The rooftop bar is great. Room had coffee, tea, nice bathroom, amazing view of Monastiraki square and the Parthenon. Only thing to note is this hotel is in the middle of lots of action, so it can be loud outside until ~ 3am. Of course, not the hotel’s fault, but we played some white noise and that was fine. Earplugs would work for those sensitive as well.

GGuest UserWe stayed at Be My Guest Athens for 6 nights in their superior bedroom with a balcony, and had a fantastic time! Our flight to Athens was very early, but reception was very helpful and prioritised getting our room ready to check in early, which was very much appreciated! Spacious room with air con and a lovely sized balcony. Honestly felt like we had our own apartment as we never heard nearby guests. Waterfall shower which was powerful and could always get to a good temperature easily. Daily housekeeping service with new towels everyday. We did have a drink on the rooftop bar, it was a lovely space and you can get a drink at the reception downstairs. Wouldn’t call it a bar so to speak, more just an area to enjoy in the hotel. Location is lovely in our personal opinion, downstairs is a supermarket and a bakery across the road. The next street along had some fantastic restaurants that we tried (Funky Taverna, Abibayo and Underdog) and in 5 minutes walk you can get to loads of coffee shops. You are close to Monstraki too which is about a 10 minute walk, near enough to enjoy without trying to sleep the noisiness. You are actually really close to the Acropolis too, if you walk! It’s about a 15 minute walk, you will have to change to a different line if you get the metro, and it’s a nice enough walk!

GGuest UserI had a wonderful 2 night stay at Hestia - Asklipiou 61 in Athens. The apartment and facilities are so modern, the property was really easy to access. I did have to call the customer service and they were quick and very helpful. The rooms are gorgeous, super super super clean. The bed was comfy and aircon worked a treat! The view from my room looked over the church which is stunning (the bells are a bit loud but don't last long). The only issue I could foresee staying here is the noise, if you are a light sleeper you may struggle to sleep with the noise from the bars below - however, I put on some white noise and it was no issue for me. Excellent
GGuest UserIt is my pleasure to write this review of the hotel. My wife and myself came to Athens for a medical conference. Being religious Jews, I booked this hotel to be close to Chabad were we could eat kosher food and join prayers. In fact the hotel is less than a minute from the Chabad center. We found the hotel to be above expectations. The hotel is three years old, very clean, and very looked after. The receptionists at all time were very helpful and gave good suggestions. The room was very clean and had all the facilities needed for our stay. The breakfast on the roof level was good and presented very nicely (obviously we were limited to products that had no kosher limitations). My wife enjoyed the Spa very much including the pool and treatments. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel especially to those people who want to be close to Chabad. Very Good
VvasiliangI traveled here with my sister and adult daughter for a short stay before a cruise. The location is amazing. Hotel is located in a quiet area not far from Acropolis Musem and hop on/off bus stop is 2 blocks away. We had a lovely view of acropolis from our balcony, and I had mentioned it was my daughter's birthday, so we were given a nice fruit basket with other goodies to celebrate. There are a few restaurants nearby and a bakery which has excellent sandwiches. The included breakfast was very filling and offered eggs, sausages, several varieties of breads and rolls, fruit, awesome yoghurt, spanakopita, cereal, juice, and numerous baked goods. The room was very clean and had some storage and a mini fridge. There is a rooftop deck, but the stairs are very narrow. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with offering advice on things to see and giving great directions. The area is very safe and the hotel provides maps and access to guidebooks in their lobby. I would stay here again.

GGuest UserWhen writing this review I was conflicted between giving the Delphi Art Hotel 3/4 stars. The location is highly convenient for sightseeing, considering it has a metro station a mere 300m from it. This metro has a direct link to the Acropolis just three stops away and allows you to access with relative ease much of Athens. Within the vicinity (10-15 minute walk) there are lots of very good restaurants and bars. However, be prepared to see many people using injectable drugs during broad daylight and within busy streets right outside the hotel - according to locals, a big issue currently in Athens and more specifically within Omonia. We had a room facing inside, which was cold, with no heater and poorly decorated, however they moved us without issue the following day. We asked for a front facing room with a street view. The decor in this room was much improved and it was reasonably sized, with a heater. The room was clean and soaps were replenished daily. The bathrooms had good facilities and showers were excellent with strong water pressure and constant hot water. Service was good: staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was inclusive and reasonable - I was a large fan of the filter coffee, which was refillable! We were half board, therefore breakfast and dinner was also included. The dinner was not our favourite, made worse by the fact there was no choice! Though, having said that, the salad was different each day and mostly enjoyable!
