I do not recommend at all!! They scammed us €30 for having made a mistake when making the reservation for one person, instead of 2 people. The real price on the web to add a person was €8-10, she told us €10-15 when we arrived, but when we returned to the hotel later she told us that it was €30!!! Tourist thieves! Rude receptionist girl, zero friendliness, argued with us! The room was not bad but the toilet seat was half broken and the most incredible thing: they don't warn you that there is a techno music club (an after party) right next to the hotel! All night and all morning the walls of our room were reverberating with that horrible music!! A true nightmare stay paying €100 to be mistreated and cheated and without being able to rest. In addition, they warn you that they are not responsible for the valuables that you have in the room. What kind of hotel allows this? Run away from this hotel!!

We spent two nights in the hotel. We had Deluxe room with balcony. Rooms are spacious, newly equipped, clean. Deluxe rooms also have a balcony, which is a big plus, and of course air conditioning. The room has a bathrobe and slippers, as well as a refrigerator with two bottles of water (no Coca Cola or beer). There is also a coffee machine in the room. There was no hairdryer in the room, however, after calling the reception they brought it to us. The staff is very friendly, helpful. The interiors of the hotel are ok. The surroundings of the hotel are dirty, however we did not feel any danger. The bus stop is about 200m away, metro about 7 minutes walk. The city centre can be reached within 10 minutes by metro. The only downside of this hotel is poor breakfast. The choice is really small - no scrambled eggs, no fried eggs, no bacon. No pasty/spread, no porridge. We also missed Nutella. There is also lack of ready-to-eat fresh fruit, such as melon or orange. Overall the hotel is good, so we can safely recommend the hotel, however expect only a small breakfast.

Great little boutique hotel just outside the core of Athens. Staff were amazingly helpful and the rooms very clean. 30 minute walk to the Athens city proper. Handful of restaurants within walking distance. Typical continental breakfast was ok.

The Hypnos Inn Athens is a brand new Boutique Hotel less than 2 months old when I stayed in October. The management here are extremely friendly helpful and professional and really make you feel welcome and are happy chat and to give advice and tips about what to do or where to eat in Athens. The rooms are small but clean and modern and they offer very comfortable beds, a desk and chair, a bar fridge and shelving with space for your luggage. They do not provide slippers or bathrobes. There is a large LCD TV,however it only has one English speaking News Channel, so I was lacking a little bit there for English speaking tourists. The bathroom is small and compact but the shower has reasonably good water pressure. Two negatives are: The Wi-Fi is poor and drops out all of the time. They have a negative is there is a nightclub next door and on Friday and Saturday nights at about 5:30 in the morning the loud thumping and base Echoes through all the rooms and you cannot sleep. This is only applicable to Saturday and Sunday morning in the early hours but is very annoying and frustrating as you cannot get a decent night sleep. The hotel has a lot of potential is clean modern and comfortable and I would have no problem recommending this hotel or staying here again.

We didn't initially intend to write anything but after 3 bad nights, on the last day, the glass overflowed. Starting with the good, let's say that the room and the bathroom were recently renovated and clean. The 2 girls at the reception, smiling and kind. Every day the cleaning service came in and changed the towels. And then the fun started. Let's first say that we paid 136 euros per night in a hotel that is considered -badly- 4 stars. At the reception, a smiling girl informed us that our request for a double bed had been accepted and proudly announced that it was also...superior. He also pointed out that the "coffee and water in the fridge" were a gift! Impressed by the awesome offers of the 4-star hotel, we entered the room to see some simple nescafe sachets and 2 small waters in the fridge. The "superior double bed" was simply 2 single beds pushed together. Opening the curtain we were depressed by the view but the elaborately broken glass of the balcony door gave us shivers of emotion. The WiFi? So bad we were using ours. The sliding bathroom doors did not close together. So did the door to the room that left a gaping gap. All the doors had a spring return mechanism as a result of which they closed with force and a lot of noise. The soundproofing was non-existent so you could hear all the footsteps in the corridor, the unlocking of each door and then the click when it closed. And the drains? One can hear everything from the neighbors or from above when their "content" falls into the night. And breakfast, when in other hotels it is served until 11:00, here it was until 09:00. But when you have not been allowed to sleep at night, you hardly get up to eat something that we were very afraid would be equally disappointing. What no one knows, and is badly informed afterwards, is that right next to the hotel entrance, is an underground-hole-pit from where at 04:30 a non-stop, monotonous noise of electronic-techno music started that shook its foundations 4th floor, including us and it stopped at...10:00 in the morning. If you were lucky and found somewhere nearby to park, you'd find a Techno-Emo breed leaning on it while little girls with red eyes, (not from crying) were running around. If you weren't, you'd been driving around the night before trying to find a place to park. And no. The hotel doesn't have a parking lot either (it only has 2 spaces), but you won't find a private one nearby either. And the center? Away. And the neighborhood? Scary. You don't feel safe. And arriving at the last breakfast and while we had been suffering all night from the blaring music, at 07:30 the cursing, the threats, the women's screams and the fights started right below. Further down, a suffering father was putting his daughter in the back seat of the car
