A charming little place run by friendly and knowledgeable staff. The location is perfect, on a pedestrian street close to all the major tourist sites. Great breakfast, clean facilities, and cozy sitting rooms. Highly recommended.

Excellent location with many restaurants and bars around that are not so touristy. Very central and close to the Acropolis. Good connection to the airport. Great atmosphere and nice breakfast. But they could change from toast bred to real bred.

It's an old hotel. There are some ancient objects in the lobby. The facilities are too basic. There is no hair dryer or elevator. Breakfast is OK. The reception at the front desk was very welcoming. The location is in a small alley.

This homestay is the worst I have lived in Athens for a month. *** Only know the proprietress who is staring at the customers and begging for money. It was late at night when we first arrived at the hotel, and the elderly and children were already very tired, but the proprietress gave us the room on the top floor, and we carried it up by ourselves, saying that they could carry our luggage if it was daytime. Breakfast is paid separately, and one or two slices of toast and meat are given, which is disgusting to Western guests. It was time for them to carry the luggage when checking out, but unexpectedly they rudely refused to help with the luggage. Everyone in it showed me their ugly side. I really feel that my house is great, let me live in it for free, I will never come back!

We stayed in the Acropolis House for 5 nights in April. We saw the hotel on a list of hotels in the Plaka while reading Rick Steves’ guide on Greece. We found the hotel comfortable and just what we needed – a base, centrally located, where we could sleep, shower and change – being perfectly located in the Plaka close to all the sites; the Acropolis, Syntagma Square, the Agora, Hadrian’s Library, etc. Whenever we finished our day’s excursion, we found we were only ever 10 minutes or less from the hotel. Emanuella, who runs the hotel, was very helpful as were all her staff. Her daughter even took time out from eating her dinner to make us coffee as the member of staff on duty was busy with another guest. The breakfast was simple but enjoyable and the homemade cake was delicious. We usually left before breakfast started but, if you notified them the day before, they would make breakfast to go. Something a potential guest should know; the rooms are small, as are the bathrooms. Some of the bathrooms are across the hall; we had a triple ensuite room with a small balcony for the 2 of us. A third adult would have made the room feel cramped. However, we never intended on staying in the hotel except to sleep – there is far too much to see and do in Athens! Additionally, there are no elevators, so you must carry your luggage up the winding staircase. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and if you want a centrally located, comfortable hotel the Acropolis House should be considered.

The hotel was conveniently located near Syntagma Square and Acropolis. We were able to see Acropolis from our bathroom window. The room was very small. There was no space between double bed and single bed. The private bathroom was outside which was inconvenient. There was a step to get into the bathroom which could lead to trip and fall situations. The floor in the bathroom was uneven which was also dangerous. There was no elevator so we had to carry our luggage to the third floor via spiral staircase. It was very noisy at night, the sound was coming from both inside and outside the hotel. Even regular conversation could be heard inside our room. The breakfast was limited. The lady who was serving breakfast was rude. She didn't offer yogurt. When I asked about yogurt she asked how many did we need. I told that I needed 3 yogurts for 3 people. The lady said, "Are you sure? Because I don't won't my yogurt to be wasted". We felt unwelcome there.

LOCATION: The hotel was well located in Plaka 6 minutes from Syntagma Square and 10 minutes from Monastiraki square. FACILITIES: The room had everything you need. STAFF: The staff were very pleasant & welcoming. Penny in particular who served breakfast was really friendly and worthy of mention. And her breakfast, what a breakfast! A real feast of goodies included figs, boiled eggs & her Grannies home-made cake recipe. Delicious & all served with a smile.

Good location and very good customer service. I would definitely return. It's ideal for people who visit to experience the best of Athens, instead of spending time in a hotel. We basically used it as our base to change and sleep, so the fact that it was clean and quiet was everything. Special thanks to the lady at the reception who made sure to make our stay as comfortable as possible!

Just returned from 10 nights at The Acropolis House hotel. We had gone for 5nights, went somewhere else then returned for another 5. We stayed in this hotel 24years ago and promised ourselves a return after Covid. A few changes but good memories .The hotel is now owned/managed by 3rd generation. We had a very warm welcome. Breakfast next morning was plentiful with table service of boiled eggs, ham and cheese. Fresh fruit and homemade cake, always plenty of bread to toast if required plenty tea and coffee. If leaving before breakfast you can ask for a breakfast bag. I’m sorry to say we did not ask the blonde lady who looked after us so well her name, always a smile and chat, we even bumped into her in the streets of Plaka and chatted. The young man on reception most evenings was also friendly and helpful. Always a smile from housekeeping ladies, kept rooms very clean always changes of towels. A couple of times we didn’t bother with room service. This is a 2star hotel in an old Plaka mansion house, so no lift, smallish but very clean rooms. Would definitely recommend this hotel for good service and excellent location.

We stayed here for 3 nights & it was the perfect location. Minutes away from Plaka. We never felt unsafe walking around nearby which I was worried about coming to Athens. The hotel staff were all so lovely and we felt very welcome. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Thank you for our stay!

Very happy with the stay here. Owners and staff welcoming and friendly. Forgot to ask her name but the woman who comes in from Agios Dimitrios was lovely. Knew in advance the rooms are small but the hotel has character and is in a good location. Main archeological sites all in walking distance. Metro station too. And plenty of tavernas, coffee shops, food bars, other restaurants and shops. Would visit again!

The hotel is well located but the comfort seems to date from the year the house was built in 1880… Absolutely avoid room 201 where the bed is almost under the sink and the toilet in the shower tray….
