The Candia hotel was a very short and easy walk with a lot of luggage from the train station. I was able to check in an hour earlier than they state in the information and the receptionists were very helpful. The hotel is a short walk to the underground station in Thessaloniki from there it was a short train ride ( very exciting if you get a front seat) to all the museums and centre. The room at Candia was very large with a big bathroom and was very comfy, clean and relaxing. There are shutters in the windows that was good for the mornings. Nd the sun did not wake me up! Breakfast was amazing with a wide variety of hot and cold food. I especially liked the fruit and yoghurts with an array of extra bits for healthy toppings. The swimming pool was lively and I had fun in the sun. There were plenty of staff to help there and make my stay fabulous. The views from the top of the hotel were great and I wished I’d taken some images! Thessaloniki has a lot to offer travellers who enjoy culture, which is why I chose to stay there.

A little on the older side with a small rooftop pool. The location is outside the city center, but close to a metro. Good value for the money if you don’t mind a place which is a little bit outdated.

We got one of the newly refurbished rooms, which was worth it. Clean comfortable with three beds.
Downside of the hotel is it is also a hostel on the lower floors which means there are a lot of young people in the pool and upstairs area and overcrowded when I was there so I didn’t use the pool. Overall we had a good stay however next time I would probably stay closer to Monastiraki Flea market

We stayed here for a short city break and found the hotel to be basic but clean — for the price, we really couldn’t complain. The highlight was definitely the pool area and rooftop bar, which were perfect for relaxing in the afternoon after a morning of sightseeing.
The surrounding area wasn’t the most picturesque, but this seemed fairly typical across Athens until you reached the more touristy parts near the Acropolis. That said, I always felt safe walking around.
The main attractions were about a 30-minute walk away, or just a £5 Uber ride. There was a metro station close by, though we didn’t end up using it.
Overall, a solid budget-friendly option with great rooftop views and a laid-back vibe.

We've arrived earlier and the front desk agent was alone, overwhelmed with check-in and check-out guests. The hotel lobby was crowded. We needed luggage storage and the front desk gave us direction to an open, unattended room on the 1st floor, where anyone can walk in and out. We've decided to wait about 3 hours in the lobby for our rooms to be ready instead of exploring the city.
