Athabasca Lodge Motel

Very sneaky business, if i could give 0 stars i would. My coworker and I had to come here for work, since work plans change all the time, we had asked what happens if we dont stay all the nights.We were assured that we would get our money back if we dont stay all the nights. We signed the guest sign in sheet, only stayed for 4 nights and i expected my money to be returned to my credit card as promised. Nothing happens, they dont even call me to tell me whats going on with my money or that i had an appearent credit to stay there. I did not want the credit for many reasons, as they should of just done what they told us they would do if we didnt stay. I called to get my money back and he said that i signed a contract and he would not keep his word. Later to find out the contract says no refunds, so we have no choice but to stay here or else i dont get my money back. As a business very unprofessional to lie to customers and basically force them to stay at your hotel. Very rude customer service as well as i was talking to owner on phone. Dont waste your money here!!!!!

The initial impression was casual as there was no one at the desk till after a phone call was made, even tho they have cameras. When I told the front desk my credit card number I felt like the person near by was eavesdropping. Turns out they worked there. The room it self smelled like stale alcohol and bathroom fan periodically worked. To much light came thru from outside lightning. Overall not a great experience. And definitely not for the same price you pay in a nice hotel in similar oilpatch towns in Alberta and I’ve been to most of them.
