The room is okay, the environment is okay, and the dining experience is full of rituals, but the taste can only be said to be average to me. The area of the bathhouse is really too small. It is so small that even two people can feel crowded if they go in. In addition, go to the hotel The road is indeed very challenging, and it should be very difficult in rainy and snowy weather.

It’s a little distance from the station, because it’s an uphill ramp, so if you take the train, there’s no problem. The overall feeling is good, it’s so clean, and the attitude of the staff is good. I’m sorry for the western-style dinner, it’s like fine dining

Nice and quiet location with very attentive staff. The onsen was smaller than expected, but the lack of a crowd made it pleasant.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. They were working so hard to make our stay memorable and their intention to make a luxurious stay was known. Those going to expect authentic Italian food may be disappointed but the food was very good. There is a restaurant in Vancouver that does Japanese and Italian fusion that has a Michelin star but the food here is better and fresher. Can't beat Japanese fish caught on the same day paired with Italian wine. The in room onsen with real onsen water was a treat. After 10 days of city hopping, I felt relaxed and calm. I would stay there again . There are reviews that the hill is too hard to climb but I suggest that guests take a taxi. The entire city is built in steep hills so you cannot say this one hotel is bad without mentioning the region. Think Amalfi or Cinque Terre and you get the Italian feel with Japanese flair. I've been to both and have Italian family and have lived in Japan so I'm confident in my review that this meets my experiences and expectations. Great stay!

Our overall experience is very good! The room has great view, is clean and has all nice little things you could possibly need. I enjoy the morning sunrise time, listening the sounds of nature, watching the goat eating grass in the yard , facing the Buddhist temple on the opposite hill, close to the nature, I can see the owner sets high standards and try hard to provide high end service.

A very, very hospitable experience. Guests were made welcome immediately upon arrival, and through the stay with thoughtful touches. The food for the half board (Italian banquet, breakfast) was very enjoyable. Staff seemed genuinely interested in making our experience the best possible. Even the taxi ride up the crazy, narrow streets of Atami added to the experience. Very gaijin friendly.

Lovely big rooms with 4-poster beds, nice view, good facilities. Staff were very welcoming. Great attention to detail e.g. remembered to do something special for a birthday, napkins embroidered with our names etc. The meal was excellent, with good wine options at reasonable prices. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay - thank you to all the staff there.

I had been to Atami a few times and chose this hotel because it seems different from the more traditional types of onsen hotel. And I was drawn by their massage service. After 5 days' travelling to different onsens in Fukushima and Yamagata, I was looking forward to a quiet and relaxing stay in Atami while enjoying a good massage. The location of the hotel provides an excellent view from the hill top. This is a great plus. I did know I need to use a taxi from the station to reach the hotel. Yet it was a huge surprise to find a long pile of stairs to climb in order to enter the hotel. There is porter service to take my luggage when the taxi driver sounded the horn though. Before booking the hotel, as I was not familiar with it, I did go to their website to check every single details. When I found their description of the opening hours of the onsen a bit strange, I even wrote to them to ask questions. Yet I found they were not forthcoming in disclosing the not-so-favourable aspects of the hotel. I have mistakenly booked a room without a bath/shower. I in fact did not mind that much for I intended to use the public onsen. But such information should be given at the outset so that I could have a choice. There are positive aspects about this hotel though: - I did like the room, spacious and modern, and free drinks in the fridge. - The food quality of the restaurant was good and the service there was excellent. - The spa was really nice and the masseur was highly skilful. I spent nearly two hours there and it was a dream. All in all, if the management can take a closer look and address the negative aspects, this hotel could become a good destination for a relaxing and unique stay in Atami.
Response from Property: Firstly, we would like to thank you for using our hotel for your relaxation. It seems you enjoyed your time here. You mentioned about our Spa and Restaurant’s services quality. But there was some miscommunication and apology for the inconvenience. We always looking forward to make easy and memorable time in our hotel to customers. We are very grateful to receive such review and appreciate your time. We will definitely work on it to improve quality of our hotel. Thank you for your great review. Waiting for your next arrival.

Some of the areas looks a bit old compare to the photo, wifi is working and was able to connect to the router. But internet does not work, a little disappointing for this pricing.

You gotta walk uphill for a few min but what awaits you is a sleek hotel and the beautiful ocean view makes the hike totally worth it. You can see the illuminated castle at night and the town of Atami. Great staff and very clean facility. About 17min walk to the beach. A lot of dining options are about 10 min away.

The slope to the hotel is steep and narrow, so if you are not used to driving, you will find it quite difficult. Other than the above issues, I'm pretty happy with it overall.

Stayed on a Monday after Obon with a family of four. The location is on a mountain overlooking the city of Atami from the north, and it feels good. However, the entrance is so narrow that you hesitate for a moment, and then you arrive after sewing a steep slope several times. Compared to the name of the hotel, it's like a hideaway. I stayed in a detached room, but the room facing south is bright and open, and the room is cool and spacious with an open-air hot spring source. Amenity is substantial, too. However, it was better because the abandoned house in front of me blocked the view and it was on the second floor of a two-story detached building, but it might be tough on the first floor. We used bath of main building, but are compact. The sauna was the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel. The most impressive thing this time was the service of the restaurant staff. Dinner was an Italian course, but the first name was sewn on the napkin and the menu was signed by the staff, creating a special feeling. All the dishes were very delicious. I usually use a hot spring inn, so Japanese food. So, I was a little nervous, but the staff was friendly, and they talked to me about various things other than the dishes that came out. I had a very enjoyable meal. It was a good time, well worth the price. By the way, at this time of year, Atami seems to have fireworks on Saturdays and Sundays, but it wasn't because it was Monday. If so, I think it would be a superb view from the room.

Response from Property: Thank you very much for using our hotel and for posting this time. I am just ashamed of the words of praise. I was happy to see how you enjoyed your summer vacation without your family. We are glad that you had a relaxing time. From now on, all the staff will do their best not to lose to the words of praise, so if you have any opinions or notices, please feel free to tell us. Next time, please enjoy the sea, the night view, and the fireworks. We'll be expecting you.
