The main feature of this hotel is it's location on top of a hill overlooking the Nile. Also, you are able to use the facilities of its sister hotel, Basma Hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, esp Meera who organised drivers and tour guide for us at short notice. The room was clean and spacious, and bathroom had all amenties, however the shower cubicle was on the small side and shower curtain just a couple cms too short so difficult to avoid getting the floor wet.

The two Bassima hotels check in separately, this one is the old one on the top of the mountain. The bathroom is very small, there are not many guest rooms in a small building, and the rooms on the first floor have a special door to the public terrace. The swimming pool is small, not suitable for swimming, but suitable for soaking in it. For breakfast, go to the hotel below, which is downstairs. The scenery on the top of the mountain is still very good. Stayed the night before at the newer hotel of the same name below. Also more bottled water needs to be purchased. It is recommended that everyone stay in this hotel and live in the one downstairs.

We landed late from Cairo and checked in at 2:30 am in the hotel… the reservation staff was not sure about our bookings and kept us waiting for 45 mins as their wifi wasn’t working so couldn’t manage… horrible food no vegetarian options in BF or even the restaurant did not understand anything….rooms are bad ac wasn’t working…. Wouldn’t recommend

Worst hotel ever. I will rate it a 1 star hotel. Tiny bathroom, hard to take shower. No iron available in hotel forget in room. Air conditioner did not work, i think it will not go down a certain temperature. I had to sleep in warm room. Be careful when reserving this. Our tour company reserved it and we had no say.

We only stayed at the Basma Executive Club for one night on our way across Egypt in April, 2023. The hotel upgraded us to a bigger room, which was very nice especially for the price. We ordered a family studio and were upgraded to a suite! We got in pretty late but were able to catch the buffet for dinner. We sat outside by the pool. They kept the buffet open a little later just for us since we were the last ones arriving there. They were even walking us through to show us what they had. It was really great service all around. Everyone was as nice as could be. In the morning before we left they also had a fantastic breakfast as well. We had a taxi take us to Abu Simbel which is only about a 3 hour drive from the hotel. Great hotel for anyone who wants to explore Aswan and be close enough to also visit Abu Simbel!

Not a luxury hotel by any means but a good sized room and bathroom, with everything working well in the bathroom. The room was a bit spartan in decor, but many of the views are just superb. The hotel is high on a hill at the south end of Aswan. Thus, it has a great view up the Nile and over the rest of the city. Breakfast is available here and at the related hotel next door just down the hill. Because the hours started earlier at the latter, that's where I ate. It was good, fairly standard breakfast buffet. The desk staff was friendly. You will hear the call to prayer from a nearby mosque, sometimes before 5am. The hotel is quite close to the Nubian Museum. Cabs are inexpensive here, but I walked to restaurants about 10 minutes away, again on the southern side of the city. It is a longer hike though if you want to get to central Aswan, but on a short stay I had no reason to go there. At not quite $100/night I think it was a good deal.

The service was great, Merna and Basant from reception were very courteous and extremely helpful with a room change. The hotel itself seemed dated. Unfortunately there was an event our first night which resulted in noise until 11.30pm (the hotel say it was not on their grounds). The location was amazing, easy walk into town. You will appreciate the view from the hilltop.

The Basma hotel consists of two buildings: the first is a large complex with a large swimming pool and restaurant. The second is much smaller: around twenty rooms, and being higher, offers a magnificent view of the Nile and Aswan. There is also a swimming pool, smaller but very pleasant. The rooms are huge and even have a kitchenette. Only the bathroom is quite small. The restaurant (in the lower part of the hotel) is very good and reasonably priced and the breakfast buffet is very varied. A great address.

The executive club part of this hotel is exceptional, quiet, clean with spacious rooms and a very large bathroom. The view is spectacular. Above all the staff is friendly and very professional. Special thanks to Merna, Hany and Gerges.
