Sofitel Legend Old Cataract Aswan

I went to Aswan just for this hotel, and it definitely didn't disappoint. The Nile scenery in Aswan is breathtaking; every photo was like a scene from a movie. The hotel's complimentary Puvana water, which costs 50 RMB in some restaurants, cleared up my acne after two days of drinking it. At 5 PM, I took a free room tour, showing me the rooms Agatha Christie and Churchill stayed in. Breakfast at the 1912 restaurant was like dining in a palace, and the hotel's cuisine was also excellent.

Ambience: A very old-fashioned atmosphere, steeped in history. The restaurant and lobby are both beautiful, and the rooms are well-maintained. The balcony offers a view of the Nile. Amenities: The bedding was excellent, and there was plenty of drinking water. Service: Besides the Nile, the highlight was the service. While the room service wasn't extensive, there was welcome fruit and dessert, and water and chocolates were delivered in the afternoon. The restaurant service was excellent. I ate there twice, including breakfast at 1902. The waiter proactively explained the menu and provided drink refills quickly.

This is a well-established five-star hotel, and everything meets five-star standards. The staff are very patient and enthusiastic. Don't miss the 5 o'clock room tour.

After arriving in Aswan, I finally decided to stay at this hotel for one night for the legendary Nile River view. I think every room has a river view, and the view is indeed quite nice and varied. The hotel has two buildings. One is the dining building, which is probably the older one, where the celebrity rooms are located. The other is the newer building where we stayed. I thought the facilities were quite good, and I especially liked the 5,678 bottles of water provided in the room—an incredible amount. The hotel room decor is undoubtedly luxurious, and I especially loved the huge balcony with a table and four small sofas, making it a very comfortable place to enjoy the river view, especially the sunset. The fruit and snacks the hotel thoughtfully provided were also very good. The only downside was that we arrived after 1 a.m. and waited and waited, but we were not allowed to check in. Many other hotels are more flexible, but this one was particularly inconvenient.
