Five friends used Hotel Granda as our base in the Picos De Europa, in the village of Cangas De Onis. We stayed four nights. We had a single room (which was really a twin room) a twin room for two and a double bedded room for two. (Room matrimonial in Spanish.) We had breakfast each morning which was very nice and extensive with fruit juice, tea and coffee, egg, bacon, ham, etc.. Very nice. The hotel was clean and modern, quiet with very comfortable beds. It had good parking availability. All the staff were very helpful and pleasant. We would happily use this hotel again and can recommend it. It's a short walk to the restaurants in the village. Creo que nos dieron la habitación de la foto. Era exactamente igual. El colchón y las almohadas estupendas. Desayuno más que suficiente Todo muy limpio. Muy contenta con la elección del hotel, queríamos pasarnos un puente divertido en Oviedo y este ha sido el hotel perfecto. Todo cerca y accesible: restaurantes, bares, locales de marcha, casco histórico.

Whoever built a hotel here is very courageous. There is nothing nearby. The hotel is almost at the end of a lane that leads to a small stony beach with extremely low occupation. The building is modern and quite minimalist. Although it was full during my stay, I heard no noise from other rooms nor from plumbing, extremely unusual in Spain. With no passing traffic, nights were deliciously quiet. A very good breakfast is served, which all other clients took indoors. I took the option of breakfasting in the shade in the delightful garden. There was no dinner available as they couldn’t find staff, not the first time I heard this in Asturias. There is a footpath into town, and in 15 minutes one arrives at a bar serving food. I had intended to eat there, but then discovered an out of town, easily accessible supermarket at around 8 minutes drive from the hotel. So I bought food that could be eaten cold and ate It on the beach. I did this both evenings and had a very pleasant time, with the tang of sea air, the sound of the waves and the view of the sun going down over interesting rock formations jutting out of the briny. A couple of beers on the beach before the dinner enhanced my enjoyment! So, a charming stay and a place that I would willingly return to.

This place is kind a Jekyll/Hyde situation. The owner comes from Mexico and has great sence for art and beauty. So the hotel is perfectly decorated with art including original cast from Dalí (homage to Newton from 1985). The are where the hotel is located is stunning!! Amazing views and great surroundings. Also spa and pool is very nice (you pay for entrance and its expensive). So where is the problem? Service in the restaurant!! There is probably no manager who would overlook the staff. So you wait long for everything, they make mistakes and you definitely miss the feeling of 5 star hotel. We took dinner for 4 people and some meals were great and some were disaster nothing in between. Breakfast is served and thats the main problem. Waitres are slow and you spent hours to get simple breakfast. Self service would be better. Generally we loved the location and its very nice place. But hotel is also about people and atmosphere they create and its not good there. I spent 700eur per night what is a lot of money and it should be better for that price.

We booked this hotel due to its location not far from Real Oviedo football ground. We visited Oviedo for my son’s birthday and to go to football match. Room was triple deluxe room which was large enough for the 3 of us. Bathroom was large and more than adequate. Shower very powerful. Toiletries included, including toothpaste and toothbrushes. Beds were comfortable and wardrobe large enough for what we needed. Cafe in the hotel was nice and very reasonably priced. Staff in cafe and on reception were lovely Downside - air conditioning did not work in room and when I spoke to reception they said that it had been turned on - it seems that this is centrally controlled and even though we turned room temperature down to 16 and turned fan high, we could not get the air conditioning to work which meant the room was far too hot and I slept approx 8 hours over 3 nights due to the heat. Another issue was we were shocked to discover there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room - we have never been to a hotel that did not provide tea and coffee and we found this a huge let down
