The complex is very nice and clean, acceptable food, they don't have many dishes, the prices are a bit high for what they offer..Who wants to visit that area, I only recommend this complex and that's it. There is nothing else in that area. A holiday for people over 50. I recommend the hotel, but not the area..

Last week we choose Domina Zagarella for our first experience in Sicily. Hotel is after the renovation, everything is super clean. The rooms need a bit of attention, hope they will also make a repair there. The thing which I didn’t like was a lack of a kettle in the room, because we like to drink coffee in the morning. The location of the hotel is amazing, private beach and beautiful view from the window. Also, I would like to make a respect to the guys from the part of dclub. When we arrived, they proposed us a nice aperitif at the pool bay to give an info about other hotels of Domina. First of all, we thought it would be a waste of time, but anyway we came. Finally, they showed us an amazing presentation and now we are going to go to another hotel of domina in Egypt. They proposed us to have more possibilities for our travels and we accepted it. Hope that we will really like it!

We had a lovely time at this hotel in June - the common areas are delightful! The rooms are nice - very clean and comfortable. Beautiful location about 35-40 minutes away from Palermo, so I would recommend the resort only if you have a car (parking is extra EUR 12 per night). The resort has 3 pools and 2 bars - one is a luxury beach club with direct, private access to the sea. They organise entertainment events every night. Overall, you can have a great time here.

Truly the worst. Staff arrogant with no idea of customer service or awareness. If you’re not “D-Club” member then you not only pay 30% more for everything, but you’re not allowed to use the more comfortable chairs nor sit in the nicer areas of the resort. Even though the place is only reachable by car you still have to pay €12/d to park. You’ll need 30min to walk to train station and buy tickets etc. Bad decision to stay here.

The hotel facilities include very good pools both freshwater and seawater with access down a lot of steps to the seawater pool and more to the sea if you prefer. But Not ideal for the more elderly unless very fit. I noticed a golf cart and a narrow road down which may be available to those who need it , however, nothing mentioned to us. There is segregation with D club seated areas and areas with better sun loungers around the pools not offered to us. Great for children with their own pool and play float things, I also noted pets are allowed in the hotel. Rooms are themed, ours was very pink, not large but adequate with nice king size bed and ensuite with a walk in shower and a balcony with a view to the sea which we paid extra for. We were half board and the food was ok with lots of choice but it felt a bit like a canteen. It seems all the guests were on the same board basis so there was a queue for dinner and a first come first served approach. Wine was included. There was a live outdoor music session each night which may not suit everyone but thankfully our room double glazing was quite good. Our room was directly above the playing area which is right against the front balcony sided rooms of the hotel, so it can’t be ignored. I noted there is another playing area under construction beside the seawater pool down steps half way towards the sea and further way from the front of the hotel, this may be a future planned move but it was not operational whilst we were there. The room air con seemed to be fixed at a temperature of 22C and I couldn’t alter this or the fan speed, I opened the balcony door after the music sessions stopped as the night air was cooler. The biggest drawback for us was you really need your own transport to get to the hotel and there is nothing else around that’s easy to walk to. We arrived by train from Palermo, one every hour and it takes about 20 mins. Note there is an underpass with steps and no lift to exit the station, not easy with luggage. You need to arrange a local taxi in advance from the Santa Flavia station, it’s only 10 mins but you can’t do it on foot with luggage and the hotel has no shuttle service. All in all it was a reasonable stay but not really what we expected. Probably ok for younger families with children but as seniors I doubt we that we would want to visit there again.

This is a fair and honest review based on our experience at this hotel. Having read the other reviews on here, we went in to our stay at the Domina Zagarella with open minds and a sense of humour. We were expecting weird and wacky and they certainly delivered. Our check-in experience was quick and probably one of the best parts of our stay. We had arrived a couple of hours before the check-in time as we had a morning flight but our room was ready so the staff allowed us to check-in early. They seemed friendly and polite and once all the formalities were out the way, we were taken over to a window overlooking the upper pools by a gentleman. He started off by taking a contact number and stated that he would send us a message so that we would have his number in the event that we needed any assistance throughout our stay. So far, so good... or so we thought. He next invited us to a breakfast on the pool terrace for the next morning where we could learn more about the special group they operate called D Club. We politely declined the invitation as we already had plans to be out early the next morning and would not have been able to make the 9am breakfast. Immediately the atmosphere changed and where he had been polite and friendly before, he turned cool and uninterested. He pointed us towards the elevators and swiftly went back to reception. It is worth mentioning that after we had declined the invitation to hear about the D Club, we did not receive the promised message from him which told us that he he did not want our number to help us out as he had first said but instead so that he could try and sell the D Club Membership. Once we had shown we were not interested, all pretence of being friendly and helpful completely vanished. After this, we went up to see our room for the first time. We were based on the 4th floor and our room was entirely pink - pink curtains, pink bedding, pink walls, pink furniture; by the end of our stay, we had gotten used to it but it was quite amusing at first. Our room was located at the side of the hotel so we got a partial sea view and a view into the rundown building next door. We were not bothered by this as we had no intention of spending much time in the room anyway and the room location turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The hotel itself was clean and tidy at all times, although parts seemed very tired and outdated. The pool areas were amazing and this was the main reason we gave the review 3 stars. The view out to sea was quite spectacular and you had a choice of an upper chlorinated pool with smaller children's pool or the lower pool which was filled with salt water. The upper pool was where we spent most of our time and for the most part it was usually very quiet and mostly empty. This did change on the Saturday which was our last day and the pool and sun loungers were completely heaving with families with young children. We couldn't figure out where all these extra people had come from as in the eveni
