"The hotel is very conveniently located. We could spot it from our JR train coming from Kumamoto as we pulled into Aso Station. Buses going up the mountain depart right outside the station. The next morning, we took the 9:40 AM bus, and in just 25 minutes, we reached Aso Volcano Museum and Kusasenri. The scenery along the way was breathtaking, making the trip absolutely worthwhile. The hotel provided a welcome respite from the hot weather. The rooms were clean and, compared to many Japanese hotels, quite spacious and very well-maintained. On the ground floor, there's a communal kitchen and dining area where coffee, hot water, and instant soup are available for free. Many guests bought food from the nearby Lawson convenience store and enjoyed it there. We booked the hotel's breakfast, which was a set meal. The portion was generous, and there was a good variety of dishes."

"I really like this hotel. From the moment I parked my car, there were staff members helping to guide and confirm the parking space, accommodation name and country of the traveler. They also helped with the luggage. When I checked in, there was a staff member who could speak Chinese to help confirm (seemed to be *********). There were many staff members who seemed to have different nationalities. When I went in to confirm the reservation, they also gave me matcha and snacks. We booked the Hongye room on the first floor. The room was great and had its own hot spring, so I didn't have to go to the public hot spring. I could soak in it 24 hours a day. There was hot spring water circulating so I could soak in it whenever I woke up. The hotel has two hot spring houses that can be reserved, 40 minutes each time, and each room can make one reservation. The public bath is available at any time without reservation. However, since I have my own hot spring, I didn't go to the public bath or the hot spring house, so I don't know how it works. In addition, I have my own private room for dining and I have to write my name. It feels very noble (but it seems that only some room types have private rooms). Dinner was great, every dish was delicious (except dessert XD), the appetizers were exquisite and delicious, the sashimi was also very sweet, I thought the grilled fish would have a lot of bones, but it was not separated well, and finally we had the red beef shabu-shabu, the meat was tender and the soup was sweet. Breakfast is a large grilled salmon set with salad and hot spring tofu. There is also a self-service beverage bar and natto seaweed desserts outside. There is also all-you-can-drink Aso milk. Remember not to buy it here, just drink it for breakfast XD. The overall stay was great, the staff were friendly, I strongly recommend booking a room with one night and two meals and a hot spring, it's not much different, the hot spring and dinner are worth it. I regret not leaving more time to enjoy this hotel because my schedule was too full. Next time I come to Aso, I will definitely come again and leave more time to enjoy it."

"We had a great stay at Kamenoi Hotel Aso Park. We booked a room in the South Building, which was spacious,clean, and had a large, comfortable bed. The hotel provides yukata robes in various colors, which was a lovely touch for guests to enjoy the onsen experience. ♨️ The onsen was large and relaxing — perfect after a day of exploring Aso. 🚗 Parking was very convenient, located right next to the hotel. Just across the parking area, there’s a 24-hour convenience store called Obentou Hirai offering ready-made bentos, hot meals, ramen, and udon — extremely convenient for late-night snacks or quick meals. 🍱 We chose a room-only package without meals, and in the morning, we visited the local souvenir and food center at Aso Station. It had a great selection of local foods and breakfast options, plus plenty of gifts and souvenirs to bring home. Overall, a comfortable stay with everything we needed nearby. Highly recommended if you’re exploring the Aso area!"

"The hotel is a little dated, but the private bath in the own room and also outside in the public area are quite clean. The dinner buffet was great as you can do your own barbecue. The breakfast buffet was amazing too. We like that it has the self service Yukata shelves as we can pick our own clothing colour style."

"We drove to the hotel for one night stay near Aso Mountain. Free parking available. Beautiful view, and we are able to catch the sunset by 18:00 after checking in. We chose to enjoy the onsen first before buffet dinner. We did the right thing, as after onsen, we are starving. They provide a range of fish sashimi , horse sashimi, sushi, noodles, bbq, hot dishes. All you can drink for me yay! There's free ramen at 9:30-10:30 and I had a bowl of specially made ramen before bed. Buffet breakfast is also spot on, we had a full stomach before heading to other locations around Aso the other day. Great deal, great service! And there's Kumamoto souvenirs for last minute purchase!"

"Breakfast and dinner are both provided by the hotel. Dinner is served in a separate room, and breakfast is served in another public room. There is a unique menu for dinner, with staff introducing each dish. There happened to be a few people who knew Chinese when I checked in. The staff introduced it, the dishes were rich, and I was very satisfied. When you have a meal, the staff will go into the room and lay out tatami mattresses. There are no private hot spring baths, there are open-air public baths. There are only two independent indoor hot spring baths for the use of the entire hotel. There are two keys during the period. After the guests return the keys, they can then take them out and use the independent private baths. Fengli, unfortunately there is no reservation service, so I don’t know when other guests will return their keys. "

"Better to rent a car to get there, so convenience is not somebody who books this place should look for. For relaxing purpose, this is a nice area with lots of green, the down side is it is next to a golf course, so there were sounds of tree-cutting and a bunch of golfers practicing their putts on the practice putting green next to the site for trailers. I am not a big fan of that. Service is closed to non-existent, there were staffs who helped checking us in, they were friendly and did their job explaining all the essential functions of the trailer. They had to use the translator machine to communicate, they were very patient. I can't rate the service too high because after checking in we were pretty much on our own. So not something you should look for if service is a top priority. Best part is there is an onsen next to the site that offers family bath, that's memorable."

"The room was spacious enough for a family of four, and dessert and matcha were provided in the room upon check-in. We booked a two-meal, one-night stay package, and the food was excellent in both taste and quality. There were four private hot springs (if I remember correctly). The staff were welcoming and friendly, speaking basic English, making communication seamless. Many of the touches were thoughtful and charming, and the paintings were fascinating. They even provided rice balls for each guest before departure. I'll definitely be back!"

"In the quiet mountainous area of Azu, the superior traditional hot spring hotel, it is impossible to expect direct rail or public transportation! Only suitable for self-driving travelers, go to the nearest convenience store and drive 4 minutes. The service is too good to ask for more, very kind, the waiter can communicate in simple English. Breakfast and dinner are delicious, eat in a separate room. Originally there were cows and sashimi, but because we didn't eat it, the check-in explained that the waiter worked hard to help us communicate with the chef to change to duck and sashimi. The room is very large, the TV is a large-size Sony new smart TV in recent years, Wifi is stable, you can stay in the room to soak in the hot springs, lie on the sofa to play waste and watch YouTube, not afraid of doing nothing at night. The whole hotel only has 7 rooms, so there are not many guests. The room has been soaked in separate baths, and you can use a large bath (indoor and outdoor) at night to appoint 5 separate soup houses, soaking is very cool! Next time if you have the opportunity to pass Asu to do the midway station, you will definitely come again!"
