I was really looking forward to it because it had such high ratings, but dinner was underwhelming and breakfast was also a bit disappointing.
The side dishes were all pretty much the same, with mostly simmered dishes. It would have been nice if they'd offered other dishes like *.
The dining area had a sunken kotatsu table, but it wasn't heated and it was cold.
I thought it was a good deal since it was a weekday, but the price was over 25,000 yen per person, so I would have expected a little more satisfaction for that amount of money.
I really had high expectations, so I'm sorry for my harsh comments.
The bath in the room was nice, but I thought the food could have been a little better...

The dinner food is very rich, fresh and delicious, and the breakfast is equally delicious. There is Aso Shrine nearby, and the private hot spring is very enjoyable. Will definitely come again next time.

We stopped over in Aso for a night while driving around Kumamoto, and this ryokan did not disappoint! The service, food, room are all excellent! Just what we need to rest for the night before continuing our journey the next day. We did not opt for dinner, and many restaurants were closed after 5pm, so you might want to include dinner if you decide to stay. The breakfast was awesome and so hearty. Love it!

Good stay^_^ It was very good. Especially the two-story private room was spacious and clean. I enjoyed the food and the hot springs, and I would like to come again if I have the opportunity.

I have used it 4 times in the past. It's a pity that it's not a hot spring with an open-air bath on the 2nd floor of the main building, a separate jacuzzi open-air bath, and an open-air bath on the 1st floor of the main building, but the food is delicious.
