Went back to the Broadoak to try the new menu, I can’t tell you what a difference it has made and how delicious the food was (I am such a fussy eater) I had the chicken burger and my partner had the chicken stir fry and both looked beautiful and tasted so nice. Puddings are my things and the cookie dough is the best I’ve tasted (trust me I’ve tasted a lot) along with the cookie dough ice cream. For a party of 8 of us, the food arrived quickly and was presented lovely and every one was left feeling happy and full. Service was excellent and Suzanne our waitress was so attentive. Will definitely go back.

Lunch only - We have been before and, in the past, had thought the food was delicious & good value for money. Today, we were initially surprised to see the car park empty. On seeing that the lunch menu no longer offered a one course option, we thought that this was the explanation. However, when the main course arrived, we were gob-smacked! On the plate was a tiny sliver of pie. Needless to say that none of our party will be dining here again. What a disappointment & waste of money for diners. I would like to say that the staff were lovely.

Impromptu decision to go out for Sunday lunch. I can 100% say that our meals were amazing. I ordered the most delicious chicken roast dinner - cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. My daughter had scampi - the best she had ever tasted. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the rag pudding. As for the desserts... out of this world. Cannot fault the service either. Thank you.

Family room booked - 1 milk between the 3 of us for coffee & tea which we didn’t realise until the morning and nobody is available to replenish due to there being no reception. We arrived back late so we had to use the fire exit to gain entry to our room. Room had stains on the walls, dirty carpets and cobwebs in the bathroom. The toilet was in need of a good clean. Limescale stains. The hotel has potential, I’m sure it will be lovely after the renovation. The one lady who checked us in was friendly and polite.

Restaurant only for a Sunday meal. Carvery only tepid, meat been standing maybe overnight. Roast potatoes and cheesy broccoli, very hard, peas like cold bullets. Yorkshire pudding cold and greasy. Inedible. My husband had chips like he has never seen before, he couldn’t ear them. We ordered drinks, 10 to 15 minutes later they came to take our food order, we had to request the drinks. 4 girls behind the bar plus manager and we’re not busy. One girl had her long hair flowing front and back of her, not good for serving food and drinks. To top that I was then blocked in the car park by the pot washer, who was parked up not in a space, I had to wait on him coming to move it. Atmosphere not great in the pub plus a very noisy table in middle of the bar with what sounded like drunken lads. Not a great Sunday lunch, but we tried it.

Visited with an old work colleague on Saturday 16th March. Staff very helpful. Food and drinks were good, although a bit top end price wise. We sat in a little (could say private) area, near the window, within the restaurant which was quite nice. Nice comfy Chesterfield type chairs. Being super critical, the chair arms need re-covering, as large foam areas clearly visible. However, we came for lunch and not to inspect chairs, so just an observation. On the whole, everything good and we’ll visit again.
