We stayed in room 210 and were very disappointed. We checked in with the bartender because the Front Desk was not staffed. The room itself was small and smelled awful! We asked the bartender if we could switch rooms, but he didn’t know what rooms were open or cleaned. We wanted to leave, but he couldn’t adjust our bill, but our credit card was already charged and we would have to come back the next day to ask for a refund. Unfortunately we ended up staying. We turned the air conditioning to max to try to move the air around and cut down on some of the smell. The bathroom was musty and moist and the grout in the shower was moldy. We used our “Provincial Park Comfort Station” skills to keep from touching the walls. The bathroom floor was sticky, as if it was cleaned with the wrong product and it didn’t dry properly. The shower pump was very loud and the sink drained very slowly. The carpet had a discoloured ring where the vacuum just doesn’t reach. The lamp on one side of the bed was broken. There were 2 tvs on one dresser, one in front of the other, and that was just weird. The small desk and chairs looked like they were from a garage sale (not antiqued, just old) and were spread along the wall in a row from the door to the fireplace. None were usable because the room was really small. The linens and towels were clean. We needed an additional pillow, but didn’t know where to ask. The continental breakfast was very limited. Bagels and muffins were fresh enough, but one side of the toaster was broken. Peanut butter, cream cheese and raspberry jam (no other flavours) were available. We didn’t try the cereal. Cold drinks were limited to orange juice and milk. There were no alternative dairy options and no water available. We did run into staff on the morning of our stay, but they did not seem interested in talking. They responding to our “Good morning” and then said “OK” when we checked out. This hotel has amazing potential but it needs some serious TLC!
