Macdonald Berystede Hotel and Spa

ABC Hotel maintained cleanliness standards, but the room size was smaller than expected. The beautiful décor compensated for the limitations. While the location was a little far from major attractions, it was not difficult to find. Suitable for those valuing cleanliness and aesthetics, but consider alternatives for more spacious accommodations and a central location.

Awful place. Rude staff and no Wifi. I booked for an 18th birthday celebration for my son. He has health issues and suffers at night so needs Wifi through the night. I booked it for the room Wifi but it was not available. Reception said Wifi often stops working. It didn't work at all. The barman told me I could only pay for drinks by setting up my credit card at reception. No one was at reception while I waited. I went back to the bar to tell the barman this to find another way to pay and he just shrugged, not caring. I couldn't get a drink. Whilst I was at reception the barman saw the specialist drink my son had brought in with him while I had a bar drink, but rudely told my son to leave the bar and drink in the windy cold lobby, despite him being with me, a paying customer. Not able to stand staying there any more and with no Wifi still, we checked out before even spending the night there as they had breached the contract. They refused any refund or compensation.

Really lovely hotel in a nice location. Was only there for one night, but room was clean and bar food was nice.

I was traveling with colleagues and after a long day of meetings and traveling by car it was a wonderful oasis. They used some of the facilities and were very impressed. Food was good and serve too. Definitely somewhere I would stay again and recommend to others.

Matthew and his team always look after us so well and that's why we remain repeat customers.

I previously stayed at this place several months ago and had a terrible time principally because there was poor internet. This time not only did I get great internet but I had a wonderful room. I recommend the top floor. I was in 365. Comfy bed, huge bathtub, space heater on demand although once I got it functioning the room heating was excellent. I stayed there this time because everything as booked up. A side note: the previous night I had stayed at the Royal Forester in Ascot. The rooms are nothing special but if you get a breakfast package, you get a feast of unbelievable choices included.

Nice hotel, full breakfast choice and bar meal was good. nice to see elemis products in the room, I would of expected body moisturiser to be included as well as cotton wool/buds/shower cap.

We were staying for one night with our 19 month old daughter. The good: - Lots of parking available - Bar and Restaurant staff were lovely - The foyer was beautifully decorated with a lovely Chris**as tree - The food we had was lovely and they had good options for our daughter - We requested a cot for our daughter and it was in the room ready for us. - The suite we were in was large, so lots of room for the little one. The bad: - We opted for a room upgrade (so paid extra for a suite) it was a little tired looking with chipped paint and stains on the bed canopy - The phone and television remote (which was sellotaped together) did not work, so we had to walk down to reception if we needed anything. - There was a random fire exit sign in the room so there was constantly a little green light on and at one point in the night the whole sign lit up which not only woke us up but also our daughter. - There was obviously an event being held at the hotel and so we had people screaming and shouting outside our door at midnight because our room was located by the water fountain. - when we checked into our room at 3pm there were two trays with food/room service just left on the floor by the water fountain. The trays were still there when we exited our room the next day at 7.30am - The man who we initially talked to at the front desk wasn’t very welcoming - We wanted to use the swimming pool but were told that you’re only given a robe if you’re paying for trea**ent.

Convenient to Ascot and Sunningdale but hotel now looks tatty and staff are aloof, detached and disinterested. Walked in via the Conference Centre and got all the way to Reception to find little interest in us from Reception staff. Nobody asked if we needed any help. Our room was fine. Large bathroom.
