We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Whitman. We came at around 3 o'clock and had a swim in the pool and a swim in the lake afterwards. Our room was big, we were 3 people. Nice balcony with view at the lake. Super nice with kitchen. Big bathroom. Parking free. Everything was perfect. We had dinner at the restaurant and we were not disappointed. We did not have breakfast because of the price. All in all we were really happy about our one day stay.

Unimpressed with the welcome and “digital” check in. No information on facilities. No information in the room either, nothing on Wi-Fi login etc. Very disappointed with the room. The booking I made said the junior suite would have view of the lake. It has no such thing. If I went 3 metres out in the garden, I could perhaps catch a little glimpse of water through the trees. The main bedroom was down in a dark basement, the exits/“windows” were blocked with steel coverings, would be impossible to get out in case of fire! Our upstairs room had windows out to the entrance, and as it was slightly lower than the walkway, everyone looked straight in through the windows when entering the building, so curtains had to remain closed. But the curtains were see through, making the room not very nice for our children sleeping there. We ended up having to use towels to block people from ooking straight into the kids in their beds from outside… They had made a bed for one of the kids in the sofa, just placed a single thin sheet over the seats… not very hygienic - never seen anything like it. I went to the main house to see if we could get some more sheets or towels (all of ours being used to cover the windows…), but all the doors were closed and locked, no one at any front desk to help. I also closed the front door to our building, they were wide open, so anyone could just walk in. Did not feel safe. The Wi-Fi was not good, off and on all the time, and phone reception inside was so so, making 5g also difficult. The kids liked the swimming pool, but some confusion about opening hours- the website said 18.00, other places 20.00. The steam sauna was closed with a “defekt“ sign on the door. In total: Nice location, but overpriced for what we got. Missing a lot to qualify as 4 stars. Would not recommend staying with kids.

Das Essen war großartig, selten so gut gegessen, das Wildfleisch war Zart und die Soße dazu perfekt abgestimmt. Das Entenragout war ein Geschmackserlebnis. Kompliment an den Koch. Das Service personal ist professionell und unglaublich höflich und aufmerksam. Wir kommen wieder.

Bereits zum wiederholten Male habe ich in diesem Hotel zwei Nächte verbracht. Sehr positiv überrascht war ich dieses Mal, da in den vergangenen Jahren die Qualität dieses wunderbaren, herrlich gelegenen und sehr angenehmen Hotels abgenommen hatte. Nun haben aber die neuen Inhaber viel Zeit und Liebe hinein gesteckt und das Hotel ist wieder ein Ort der Ruhe, des Wohlfühlens und der Entspannung geworden. Selten hat mir ein Hotel so zugesagt wie dieses. Man kommt an und fühlt sich zu Hause. Die Einrichtung des Designers Werner Aisslingers ist leicht, schön, angenehm, gemütlich und bietet alles, was man braucht. Die Zimmer sind sehr geräumig, verfügen über eine Küchenzeile, in der man auch tatsächlich kochen kann, es sind Töpfe, Teller,Besteck, Kühlschranke, Tassen, alles vorhanden. Auch ein moderner Kaffeebereiter, der morgens einen herrlichen Kaffee bereitet, den man mit dem schönsten Blick auf den See genießen kann. Besonders liebe ich in einigen Zimmer die breite Fensterbank mit Polster, auf der man mit einem geradezu meditativen Blick einfach Stunden verbringen könnte. Die Sauna ist ebenso wie das kleine Schwimmbad sehr schön, bietet auch Getränke und Trockenfrüchte und Nüsse an der Vitalbar an. So kann man auch eine Geschäftsreise sehr angenehm machen und ich freue mich jedes Mal richtig auf "mein" Hotel!

Seit dem Besitzerwechsel hat das Hotel wieder deutlich an Komfort gewonnen. Die Zimmer sind schön und sauber und der Blick auf den See einfach toll. Die Küchenzeile ist funktional und gut eingerichtet. Und es gibt wieder Tee und eine Kaffeemaschine.

Die teilweise desaströsen Bewertungen kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Das Hotel bietet sehr große und geräumige Zimmer mit Balkon und Blick auf den See. Alles war sauber, wenngleich zuzugestehen ist, dass eine Renovierung hilfreich wäre. Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Wir waren im angeschlossenen Restaurant essen und sehr zufrieden: sehr schmackhaftes Essen mit großen und völlig ausreichenden Portionen. Ich kann das Hotel durchaus empfehlen, auch wenn vielleicht nicht alles perfekt war.

Dieses Wochenende sollte ein entspanntes Wellness Wochenende werden. Daraus wurde nichts, da das Dampfbad überhaupt nicht in Betrieb war und die Sauna nur zu sehr eingeschränkten Zeiten verfügbar war. Weder bei Buchung noch auf der Website wurde dieses vermerkt. Im Zimmer gab es keine Nachttischleuchten, viele Flecken auf dem Teppich und das Badezimmer war in schlechtem Zustand. Die Rezeption war sehr selten besetzt und es gab eigentlich nur digitalen checkin . Das Personal war hingegen sehr freundlichen das Frühstück mit vielfältiger Auswahl gut. Auch das Restaurant war schön und das Essen gut, aber höhere Preisklasse. Alles in allem handelt es sich bei dem Hotel nicht um ein wirkliches Designhotel und das Preisleistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. Unsere Beschwerde wurde sehr unbefriedigend beantwortet.
