This hotel is really good! The room is clean and tidy, with complete facilities and comfortable living. In terms of service, the staff are very enthusiastic and have a very good attitude, making people feel like they are back home. The breakfast is also rich and delicious. The surrounding transportation is also convenient. Overall, I am very satisfied with this accommodation experience and will choose here next time!

We stayed at the Serena hotel for a couple of nights when we first arrived in Tanzania. We arrived late, about 21:30 but were still offered a full 3 course meal in the restaurant. Food was great, we have not had a bad meal anywhere in Tanzania during the whole trip. The grounds and views are really nice. There’s even a 642 metre running loop around the gardens to work off all the food you’ll eat here. The room was nice, spacious, clean and great views across the lake. We only gave 4 stars as the room was a little tired, windows didn’t shut properly, the lock in the patio doors didn’t unlock and the restaurant and bar always tried to make you pay cash. There’s card facilities only at the hotel reception and they seemed put out if asked to pay this way. As we only brought cash for tips (which is expected everywhere) we wanted to keep that separate. The last road to the hotel is a little bumpy to say the least. Our driver joked we would get the ‘African Massage’

The hotel is very nice with large open spaces, good sized rooms and a range of facilities. But what makes this accommodation special is the staff. We had a brilliant stay which was highlighted by many friendly helpful conversations with the staff. One outstanding member of the extended team is Alan who took my wife and I on a private guided walk around Lake Duluti. I highly recommend everyone take this walk with Alan. We learned about the history of the local area and saw many of the animals you can find near the lake.

We stayed for one night at the Serena hotel at the start of our Tanzanian adventure holiday. The food was excellent in a rustic, colonial restaurant . Massage was done in a separate room by a well-trained masseuse. The gardens were well kept & the drinks on the terrace was a real treat!

We spent our first night here, after traveling over 32 hours to get to Tanzania. Upon arrival at 10am, they were able to provide us with our rooms to allow us to clean up and relax. Hugely beneficial for us all. The facility has a good variety and great food in the restaurant. While eating, our son saw a monkey during lunch and we had dinner with a very large praying mantis. The breakfast buffet with made or order omelets was a good way to start our day. The staff were very helpful with our bags, in the restaurant as well as registration.

Excellent hotel. A class above the other hotels in food and service. Victorian / English theme and motif, with a beautifully tended and manicured Garden. We enjoyed the hiking/running path. The service was excellent, and our every need was tended to every step of the way. I want to particularly commend Joseph who was our head waiter during lunch time for the impeccable and very personalized service. We really enjoyed especially the lunch and dinner, set menu with vegetarian options for each course - including details like fresh salad and dressings, and fresh bread and hot soup. Lovely hotel to relax in for a night on our way to Ngorngoro
