Arusha Planet Lodge

We arrived in Tanzania at about 9pm after a 30 hour (ish) journey from Sydney. This place was amazing. On arrival we put our bags into our room which was beautiful and clean (plus they had a big mosquito net around the beds ). We then headed to the bar and had pizza and a beer. The pizza was really good as was the service. After a comfortable nights sleep we went for breakfast. There was a wide variety of food. The omelette is recommended . The grounds are lovely and well maintained. We only had the one night but I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the accomodation.

With its lovely campus-like setting, comfortable bungalows and a pleasant pool, Arusha Planet Lodge provides a relaxing respite after a busy and often dusty day of game viewing. The fine bath and perfect plug positions make up for what was for me a too-hard bed (and I like hard beds). Two little touches made the accommodation stand out -- the hot water bottle on the winter night (not very cold) was a thoughtful and welcome touch and having the mosquito net wrap around the night tables was reassuring -- although there were no bugs to speak of. Add to this, the fine food -- homey, varied and delicious and the warm and friendly service throughout the lodge and you have a rejuvenating package for your next day of game viewing or cultural excursions.

We had a fantastic stay at Planet Lodge recently. The staff were all extremely friendly, the facilities were clean and the food and drink choices were really good with something for everyone. We had the first night stopover stay before we started our safari. The booking was done by our tour operator. But everything went smoothly. I arrived earlier than my friends did and received manager‘s warmly welcome. The stuff from the restaurant and kitchen waited for my friends’ arrival until 23:00. It was very helpful for them especially after 8 hrs flight. The food was great. The price was reasonable at Arusha. Recommend this lodge as your first night stay of the Safari tour!

The Arusha Planet Lodge gets my 5 star rating for excellence in customer service including Rebecca & Juliet at the reception desk. Yona, at the breakfast buffet, made me a delicious omelet & pancakes. When I asked for assistance pushing my wheelchair to the reception desk, he took it upon himself to help. When we were here on February 26th, Ronald & Charles of the management staff, was amazing and helped us with numerous transports. He was very attentive to our needs. Lavina helped me so much yesterday -from greeting us with hibiscus juice to helping me to my room in the wheelchair. She was also the person from the restaurant who delivered my friend's beer and served me dinner. She showed exceptional kindness & compassion, delivering my leftovers from dinner, because I could not carry them. I received one of best massages I have ever had in my entire life from Seke at the Arusha Planet Lodge spa. After traveling for over 30 hours to get to Arusha, she made all my aches & pains go away. That was no small feat because I have a knee ligament injury and was in a great deal of pain! Her massage was so healing and impressive that I am getting another today. I can hardly wait to get a massage from her and go rest poolside before I take a long nap. Later today we fly to London and this day of relaxation and rest will be important in helping us heal and prepare for the next part of our travel trip. The Arusha Planet Lodge provided us a warm welcome, superb customer service in all departments from reception, food & beverage and management. They also offered us a calm, relaxing place to recover from our safari adventures and a warm send off from Africa. Staying here will be among my fondest memories of the wonderful African style of hospitality we experienced!!!

This place was fantastic!! Scenery was beautiful and the overall location of the hotel was great. The rooms were very spacious and luxurious, along with them being squeaky clean. The facilities available such as the gym and the pool area, were also beyond expectation. The staff were absolutely brilliant, from start to finish. A special shoutout to Frederick and Mseeni for taking really good care of us. Truly great people!!
