We wanted to experience other cultures and meet people who lived and worked their land. Our visit to the Osiligilai Lodge was a wonderful and very interesting experience. The traditional Maasi huts are modernized with indoor plumbing, showers and use solar. The staff was welcoming, very open to sharing of their lives and cultures. Give this place a visit, you won’t be disappointed!

We are 2 couples in our 40s who stayed here for 2 nights as part of a 10 day safari. We loved everything about this place! From the warm Massai greeting of traditional song and dance (complete with "blood" welcome drink), to the walking tours and spear throwing activities with Massai guides (our guide Joseph was amazing), to the very comfortable beds and delicious food... this place is a must. Views of Mount Kilimanjaro on one side and Mount Meru on the other are just breathtaking. Our last night, with the traditional Massai dance as the sun sets behind Mount Meru is not one I will soon forget.

My husband and I stayed two nights and we really enjoyed everything at the place. The team is amazing, so kind and passionate about taking care of us, like I never saw before. We met the owner, Mr William and he is amazing. He closely supervised his wonderful team and had time to ensure that we were happy. He also explained about lodge and it's contribution to the community. There's set percentage of the lodge's revenue that goes to support a local school and another portion going to Maa Eagles Foundation which supports Maasai girls coming from poor families. In addition the lodge also supports Maasai women who make the necklaces, shanga and other curios. The Maasai women operate the curio shop at the lodge where the proceeds goes to them. We were very impressed by the great work and contribution by Mr. William to his community and we'll be definitely asking our family and friends to join us in supporting him with the school and and the foundation. We will also be returning soon for another pleasurable stay because it's a wonderful place and also help this genuine philanthropic to support his community a 100%!

I recently had the privilege of staying at Osiligilai Lodge with family and friends, for three days and two nights, and was blown away by the hospitality, the the comfort, and the cultural "touch" of this eco-lodge. I was told about Osiligilai by a friend of mine over a year ago and was determined that if I someday returned to the continent, I would try to stay at this unique, one of a kind lodging experience. My group was not disappointed! We arrived with eleven of us in tow, and the young people running the lodge were most gracious hosts. Upon arriving we were greeted with a chorus of singing and dancing in the traditional Maasai way, and then treated to delicious lunch. During our stay there, we were taken on a walk to visit local people to understand their culture, taught about some of the flora and fauna of the area - and what they may be used for, and even shown the proper way to throw a spear for hunting. In addition, some traveled to Mt Kilimanjaro Nat'l Park, and enjoyed a hike along one of the routes that goes to the peak. In addition to the unique cultural experience, the rooms were quite comfortable, the scenery magnificent, and the food was very good. I would recommend anyone who is interested in truly learning about the Maasai specifically and Tanzania in general, to take the once in a lifetime opportunity to stay at Osiligilai. You won't be disappointed!

We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the spectacular views of Mt Kilimanjaro, tasty food (including welcome grilled goss BBq) and friendly service. A warm Maasai welcome set the tone for the rest of the stay where we learnt so much about the Maasai culture from Gabriel. The nature walk was amazing seeing zebras, gazelles and wildebeests in the wild. Really enjoyed all the activities and chilling by the pool with the best view in Africa.

Amazing! Provides authentic insights into the Maasai culture with engaging guides (shout out to Gabriel) and lovely, friendly staff. Amazing views on Mt Kilimanjaro and the plains. From the heartwarming traditional greeting, to the nature walk where we got super close to zebras and the roasted goat straight from the open fire place - it provided memories that will not fade!

Osiligilai Lodge is absolutely gorgeous and the people there led by the William the Manager/owner are all authentic Maasai, and are really wonderful. William is a charming gentleman who loves his Maasai tribe and is trying hard to empower them through employment at the lodge, opportunities for business with the guests and also supports education initiatives for the local girls. We did not have a dull moment! There were interesting activities planned for the two days that we stayed in this tribal paradise. We hiked to the village, visited the local school, donkey rides, participated in the local dances, watched the Maasai women milk cows and goats…. They were all well planned and interesting, giving us insight into the Maasai culture. The food was excellent and I have to thank the kitchen staff for accommodating our dietary restrictions and keeping the food so delicious. The rooms were comfortable but unlike any of the other places that we stayed in during the safari. The surreal view of sunrise over the majestic Kilimanjaro right from our room was jaw dropping. I have been to many places in Tanzania and I can confidently say that visit to Osiligilai Maasai Lodge was worth our time and dimes. It really time and money well spent!
