As a family with two children, we booked the hotel on trip.com and also received an email confirming that we had booked a four-bed room for one night with two adults and two children. Unfortunately, the hotel only received confirmation that two adults were sleeping in the four-bed room. We then had to pay another €100 for our two young children, a 100% surcharge. This booking error was neither our fault nor that of the hotel. Unfortunately, the boss who came on the phone was in no way accommodating and didn't accommodate us at all in terms of price, so we had to pay solely for trip.com's mistake. We cannot recommend Trip.com., but we can only recommend the hotel to a limited extent due to the attitude of the hotel manager.

The hotel in the town is not only clean and tidy, but also very warm.

Wir haben mit einer befreundeten Familie mit zwei Kindern ein tolles Angebot über Trip.com gefunden für ein 4 Bettzimmer 100€ die Nacht. Buchung wurde bestätigt über 2 Erwachsene, 2 Kinder (16+15). Leider wurde dem Hotel nur ein 4 Bettzimmer mit einer 2er Belegung gemeldet und vor Ort wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass die Kinder 100€ extra kosten, quasi +100% zum gebuchten Preis. Das zubuchbare Frühstück kostete vor Ort dann auch 10€ statt 5€ (entgegen der Trip.com Beschreibung). Fehler von Trip.com den wir letztendlich finanziell ausbaden müssen. Vor Ort grosses Bedauern und Verständnis durch den Portier. Aber von der Hotelleitung null Zugeständnis preislich. Begründung: wir müssen ja auf für 200 € Provision zahlen???? Über das Portal haben wir nur 100 € gezahlt???? Den Rest mussten wir vor Ort direkt dem Hotel zahlen! Wir haben im Nachgang auf allen gängigen Portalen dieses Hotel für 1 Nacht 30-40 € günstiger gefunden. Zudem waren wir nicht im Haupthaus untergebracht, sondern in einem separaten Haus, 5 Minuten weiter die Fußgängerzone runter. Das war in der Beschreibung auch nicht ersichtlich. Nettes kleines Hotel. Frühstück top. Beschreibung und Service mangelhaft. Wir hätten uns ein kleines Zugeständnis durch das Hotel gewünscht.

The old bakery comprises several buildings in which various overnight accommodations are offered. We were accommodated in the old bakery building, which also houses the restaurant. The welcome was extremely warm. We were given a room facing the landmark (tower), which would have had a N/E orientation as the room was pleasantly cool. The decor is rustic but very clean. Unfortunately there is no way to put your suitcase down somewhere at knee height and open it, so you have to lay it on the floor and open it. Unfortunately, the bed was only covered with a duvet (for a single room), but there was a second duvet in the closet. The disadvantage was that the blankets were heavy and thick and simply not suitable for hot summer nights. An airy alternative would have been nice here, but it was OK for one night. The bathroom was adequate for such an old building, but very small. However, we wouldn't take this room if there were a restaurant operating again in the rooms below. It was enough for us that various visitors, whether restaurant/hotel, smoked underneath, although only 10 meters away at the tower by the bank would be a good place for smokers where no one would be disturbed. The stairs up to the rooms are an old wooden staircase and partly steep, sporting heavy luggage. Not feasible for older guests - someone from the hotel staff would have to bring the suitcases up/down. The location means you're very central, there are cars driving right under your room, sometimes very quickly through the streets and over the cobblestones, that's something you should know. Within walking distance you can reach the old castle ruins, the Arnsberg factory (highly recommended) and the old town, where unfortunately some shops have also closed. The place itself is cute and adorable. The checkout with another gentleman wasn't as welcoming as with the check-in boss, but OK. A “we hope you had a nice stay and everything was to your satisfaction” would have been nice, but maybe that is no longer contemporary and fashionable?

Wir ( 2Personen ) haben kurz vorm Jahreswechsel gebucht und wollten " ruhige " Silvester feiern. Gesagt, gebucht...nur mussten wir für abends im Restaurant einen Tisch dazubuchen. Silvester natürlich ausgebucht ! Jetzt kommt das super, nette, freundliche Personal ins Spiel und bat uns, etwas später zu kommen, da die meisten Gäste Einheimische sind und nicht so lange bleiben. Zwei Stunden vor Küchenschließung waren 2 kleine Tische schon frei und wir konnten sogar wählen. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr aufmerksam und sehr freundlich, ebenfalls loben muss ich den Küchenchef und sein Team. Die Gerichte kamen heiß und schön angerichtet zum Tisch. Alles in allem kann ich das Hotel / Restaurant nur weiter empfehlen, auch auf Grund der Lage oben in Alt Arnsberg, nahe der Burgruine ,von wo man einen herrlichen Blick über die Stadt in die Natur genießen kann. Ein renoviertes Hotel mit gemütlichen Zimmern ohne besondere Auffälligkeiten. Nicht leicht zu erreichen für Radfahrer, da auf einem Schlossberg. Gute Unterbringung der Fahrräder. Leider war für Hotelgäste kein Platz für das Abendessen. Wir sind dann zu den Braubrüdern gegangen.

Tijdens onze fietstocht langs de Ruhr hebben we in dit hotel overnacht. In de nog nieuwe kamer tegenover het restaurant hebben we heerlijk geslapen. Goede bedden en een uitstekende douche. Een prima overdekte plek om de fietsen te stallen en een goed ontbijt.
