My husband and I were fortunate enough to revisit this special island resort again this year when we spent a glorious 16 nights. This resort, expertly managed by the very hard working and personable manager, Bianca Porter is truly a special place to spend some time where you just slip into its calm and charming aura. We stayed this time in cottage no 11 which suited us perfectly; slightly elevated but conveniently located to the beach, bar and restaurant we spent many peaceful mornings and evenings enjoying the ambience from our patio. The cottage was very spacious with double bathroom sinks and a very refreshing outside shower! The staff have to us become like dear friends or family who greet us so warmly and truly add to our stay and comfort. We enjoyed the lively discussions with the men operating the ferry who were always so helpful and efficient in all they do. I must give a special shout out to Hermus, Charles and Lennox. The restaurant is always a pleasure with highly efficient and super friendly staff, delicious food and a spectacular setting to enjoy all meals. For my husband and I Young Island is simply the best place to stay in St Vincent offering traditional Caribbean charm. I note at weekends the music booming across the water from the mainland but that is no reflection of Young Island who cannot be held responsible for that both with regard to the government’s seemingly relaxed laws in that regard as well as the fact that music will always travel across the water but for us it in no way discounts the comfort and experience had during our stay. So long as we can we will always aim to return to Young Island and are already planning our next visit!

I visited Young Island today for their Sunday buffet lunch. Upon arrival we were given no clear instruction about how lunch worked. We noticed other groups being seated but no one came to attend to ourselves, with very slow waits for drinks service. Food variety was good with access to breads, sides and meats. However I was appalled to find a stone in a slice of bread I was eating that I chewed down on. I immediately took it to a member of staff who apologised but no further action was taken. Upon receiving the bill, I complained again about the stone and was told there was nothing they could do about it. I was finally offered a 10% discount however the staff were not helpful and were very unprofessional in dealing with my complaint. Overall a negative experience on what could have been a lovely day for myself and my friends visiting the island. Young Island Resort fell far short of our expectations.

We had a lovely stay at Young Island Resort, however there are improvements needed which would have made our trip better. Upon arrival at the resort you take a short boat ride (under 5 minutes). The boat transfer is very easy and quick and the service is efficient. The only negative was the staff who operated the boat were not particularly friendly, which is a shame as this is the first impression you get of the resort. On the upside, all other staff on the resort are lovely, and friendly always greeted us with a smile and said hello whenever they saw us. This includes gardeners and other staff working around the hotel. We also found staff on reception very useful for assisting with booking taxis, excursions. We had a cottage which was right on the beach, with great views looking over the water. The cottage was a little dated as other reviews have noted. I personally quite liked the quaint traditional island style, however the cottage did need a little TLC, such as a new bathroom, new towels and paint to freshen it up. Despite this, the cottage was very clean. As noted in other reviews, the noise from bars over the water can be heard until 4am on Friday's and Saturday's. We found that sleeping with earplugs and the aircon made a difference, and didn't find the noise too disturbing. The gardens of the resort are well kept, and the beach was also looked after very well. We did not have any issues over sunbeds, which you can get at other resorts. There were always plenty of sunbeds at the beach and the pool. The beach can get busy when cruise ships come in, however the beach is segregated on these days to ensure hotel residents get use of the loungers. The hotel pool was probably one of the nicest hotel pools I have used. The pool is like a lagoon surrounded by trees, and it's was lovely to relax in the pool area. The hotel has a tennis court, however we were a little disappointed when we went to use it as the court has not been maintained properly and was not in great condition considering how well the the hotel grounds were kept. Furthermore, the tennis rackets in reception needed replacing with the ones we saw hanging up not having any grip. Therefore, we didn't play tennis as planned. The food at the hotel was mostly good. Breakfasts and lunches were always good, however we found the evening meals could be hit and miss. There was lobster on the menu one evening and this was the best meal we had during our stay. We found the red meat choices were not always the best, with some of the meat being quite chewy/ fatty. The dinner menu changed every night to offer variety, however this could be improved by offering more choice of sides. Per evening you would only be offered rice and veg, and on another evening potato and veg. After 11 nights we found this a little repetitive. For example we found that and not all of the choices went with rice, but you were not able to change to potato. There is a lot of attention to detail, and the servi

Ah....mazing! From start to finish we had the most lovely time here. Transportation from the airport to the St Vincent dock is included, our taxi driver gave us great bits of St Vincent info on our ride. Once at the dock a small Panga boat takes you and your luggage from the dock in St Vincent to the welcoming resort. Upon arrival, the boat captain and mate, which were all so sweet and nice, help with all the luggage and direct you to the office. Once in the office, we were provided rum welcome drinks and given our room, which was 20. The office staff was over the top accommodating to every need, they are very patient and go out of their way to make sure your stay is top notch. Assistance was provided in taking our luggage to our room and up the stairs which weren't many compared to some bungalows that could be quite a few steps up. The room view...wow, the sun was setting upon arrival so we walked down to the little round rock jetty and watched the sun sink behind a mega yacht and catamarans that had stopped to anchor for the evening. We reserved the lovers package and it was great, breakfast included every morning, a wonderful massage and a bottle of champagne. The salon was closed due to renovations so the manager (who is absolutely fantastic) arranged the massage in the bungalow that is all the way at the top of the island. Worth a trip up there even if you don't have accommodations up there as you can walk the path to the other side of the island and look out at the waves crashing and Fort Duvernette. There is also a local water taxi by the dock on St Vincent that will run you over to Fort Duvernette if you'd like to climb the 253 steps to the top and check out the original cannons, it's a beautiful view up there. Worth the climb. The restaurant on Young Island has the kindest staff running it and an excellent chef. We were diving that week and spearing lionfish to which the chef very kindly cooked it for our dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. Every morning we were greeted with smiles and offered a table with a gorgeous view of the water. They take pride in their homemade bread and they absolutely should, coconut bread, cinnamon bread, banana bread etc...so good and fresh. The breakfast is great, I did try the local fish breakfast on my last day and wished I had tried it sooner, I would have absolutely ordered it several times. The lunch menu is a little limited but what we had was great. If you want to venture out we tried a few of the restaurants on the St Vincent side. The resort boat will take you over there at any time and there is a phone by the dive shop to call the resort boat to come and pick you back up if they're not at the dock when you're ready to go back to Young Island. Bungalow and Ada were great restaurants on that side. The office arranged a taxi to take us to 4 Shells which is just down the road, if you want local food, this is the place. Nothing fancy, order off the blackboard at the inside bar and eat at picnic tabl

I just returned from another amazing stay at Young Island Resort. I don’t care how many new hotels they build in St.Vincent, I will always consider Young Island Resort as my home away from home. This is not a resort to visit if you are looking for brand new luxury, tv’s with netflix, nightlife, or pool activities. This is a place you go to when you need to unplug and RELAX. The cottages are charming and comfortable. I love the mini library. I also love the shutters that allow for cool island breeze and the sounds of nature. Falling asleep to the rain is 10/10. The outdoor shower is amazing! Who doesn’t want to bathe while looking out across turquoise water? This trip, I stayed in cottage 27 which is up quite a few steps but the view was absolutely worth it. The daily breakfast by the beach is delicious and the service is wonderful. I cannot say enough about the amazing staff we met. Everyone is quick to say hello and help out any way they can. The beach coconut bar is perfect for an afternoon drink and instagram worthy photos. If you can make the climb, head up to the top of the island for a 360 view and some tennis. The pool is always clean and cool, surrounded by beautiful trees. Writing this review is making me so sad that I am not still laying by the beach so I will end it by saying Young Island Resort is an amazing stay. Period. Special shout out to Ms.Porter, the general manager who is a thoughtful and kind person. My cousin came by to say hello on the beach during my stay, and fell ill. She went out of her way to assist even though he was not a guest. Exceptional customer service. Kudos to Letitia at the reception desk, my favorite boatmen: Charles, Lester, David and Delroy, staff: MaryAnn, Jason, Katurah, and Donovan. There was one person whose name escapes me but my sister has dubbed him “the lizard whisperer” because he helped her get a lizard out of her cottage last summer. Can’t wait to see you all again soon!

Service is excellent. Rooms are clean and classically appointed. Breakfast and drinks were great. Staff was really accommodating and friendly. The only downside is the loud music playing at restaurants until 5 a.m. across the water. Because the windows are just wooden slats, you can hear everything! Letisha, Michael and another middle aged gentleman waiter made the stay nicer.

Visiting for Coffee/drink but it had an utterly terrible atmosphere. Looks much better from St.Vincent run down and scruffy, asked where we could sit and all we got was a grunt from male member of staff and the bar girl ignored us and no coffee came so headed back to boat to leave…. there for less then 1/2 hour which was too long. Don’t go as a visitor!

I just returned from a weeks stay at Young Island Resort. St. Vincent had been on my radar for more than 30 years. Young Island Resort did not disappoint! I loved everything about it. My cottage, the food, the amazing hospitality from each and every staff member, the huge pool and the beach. The beach area is on the smaller size but 100% adequate. The lush landscape is meticulously maintained and I now have a new favorite cocktail, a Tequila Sour. Next resy will be a 2 week stay!
