Our family had a lovely vacation this summer traveling Europe. We arrived in Zakynthos on a direct and quick flight from Paris. After the hustle & bustle and thousands of steps in Paris each day, we were delighted to arrive at such tranquil grounds. The moment you step into the gates of Ktima Kourou, you can see every attention to detail has been considered. The grounds themselves are gorgeous! Flowers and greenery in every direction display an eye pleasing rainbow of colours. The owners and ground keepers are on site every day making sure everything is taken care of. Each stone villa is charmingly places to create a cozy little village setting. For this second week of our vacation we met up with my husband’s immediate family; his mother, two brothers, sister, cousin and all of our teen and young adult children. We rented out all the villas on the estate and everyone was happy with their accommodations. Accommodation notes:, One recommendation I would make for the owners: The single bed mattresses could be upgraded as the kids all seemed to complain about them. We also added a cot to our children’s villa and by the end of the week my son’s back had, had enough. It was very uncomfortable. The villas were otherwise great. Kitchens: Kitchens were well stocked with all the cooking needs. Some villas don’t have full kitchens so if you are wanting that, be sure to ask for a full kitchen. Only a couple of villas have an oven and full sized fridge. Didn’t bother us because being in such a large group (22 in total), we used all kitchens when cooking and met at the beautiful picnic area which was a wonderful space to gather as a large group. I honestly can’t imagine a better setup for a large group of people. I can’t give a review on what it would be like to rent one villa as the vibe might change with other families staying in the other villas but for us it was a perfect setup and very relaxing. Pool: The pool was also beautiful and well used during our stay. It’s very clean, has a fabulous beach vibe and comfy chairs for all. Pool towels aren’t provided so bring your own or like us buy beach towels from one of the local stores. They are affordably priced. Grounds: Private and gated. There are plenty of spots on the grounds to gather and even an adorable little church. Pride of ownership is clearly displayed everywhere you look. We also enjoyed the hen with chicks on the ground. Somehow this added to the charm. The turtles were also fun to see. Location; 1.) Walking distance to a nice beach with a well ran beach restaurant. Beach seating area is on the grass with umbrellas for shade. 2.) walking distance to corner store (kids all loved the easy access to a store) 3.) a very short drive to town where you will find lots of wonderful taverns, restaurants and night life 4.) close to a doctors clinic 5.) very easy to get around the entire island if you have a car rental. We found the area just perfect. Such a welcoming & clean island. Overall Ktima K
