We stayed on the top floor, looking down to Arinsal. The view was beautiful. The apartment, a one bedroom (open plan style) was a bit of a squeeze for our family of 4 (2 young children). The bed was huge and comfortable, the sofa bed was a decent comfort level. The kitchen was a bit sparse, only one set of cutlery per person etc. It had a fridge freezer, 2 ring hob, an oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, toastie machine, coffee pod machine, mokka pot, 1 frying pan, 1 sauce pan and a few utensils. It was enough. The bathroom was great, it even had a washing machine. The jacuzzi bath was a nice touch. A few toiletries which was useful and the hairdryer was good too. The walk to the gondola would be too far in ski boots, we hired a locker at the top so the length of the walk was fine for us, less than 10 minutes. The road is not ideal with kids though as there is no path on one stretch so you have to walk in the road. The main cons..... The heating in the room is central to the hotel so you cannot adjust the temperature. It was uncomfortably hot the whole time. My husband and son slept on the sofa bed with the door open (even though it snowed one of the nights) and my daughter and I slept on the bed under just a sheet. We had pre-paid for breakfast but upon arriving we found out that it didn't open until 8:15am. The gondola opens at 8:15 so we missed breakfast every day. The spa was advertised as "unlimited," but this wasn’t the case. Guests are only entitled to a 45-minute session every other day. We booked our sessions for the day after we arrived (Sunday) and again on Tuesday. You can only choose from the remaining available time slots, which, for us, meant an 8 p.m. session — a bit late for the kids, but they were excited nonetheless. Our Sunday session went smoothly, but on Tuesday, after giving our room number, we were let into the spa. 20 minutes later, another family arrived with the same receptionist we had booked with. It turned out there had been a mix-up, our booking was mistakenly recorded for the previous Tuesday. As a result, we were asked to leave, leaving our children very disappointed. Instead of asking the other family, who were 20 minutes late, to reschedule, we were offered a 9 p.m. slot. We declined, as it would have meant getting dried, dressed, waiting, and then changing back into wet swimwear 40 minutes later. The following day, as we were checking out, we were offered breakfast as compensation for the mix-up. Even if we hadn't already paid for bed and breakfast, this gesture would've come too late as we already had our bags on our backs ready to walk out the door. It's a shame it didn't quite hit the mark because it's s lovely property.
