Prinsotel la Caleta Hotel

Knowing Menorca and the area this hotel was based, we opted for a few days away, hoping for a last glimpse of Summer. The Hotel is perfectly located with Cala Santandria one side, & Sa Caleta the other side. 10 minutes in a taxi to Ciutadella City, so location wise, it is perfect. Arriving near the end of October, with the Island closing for the winter months, I was slightly sceptical of what to expect, but any fears upon arriving and nothing being open, soon dissipated away. The Hotel itself is beautifully presented, from the reception to the gardens. Having a One Bedroom Suite, we were directed to the Private Reception, & warmly greeted by the staff member, & drinks and snacks duly offered. The One Bedroom Suite was immaculate, overlooking the pool and so far so good, with a large double balcony and ample room. We opted for Half Board basis, & the food in the evening was to a very high standard, with so many choices, followed by breakfast, which was equally impressive in the selection. We also tried the Snack Bar at Lunchtime, & also Picco Restaurant on site, which were both serving high quality food. As the Hotel was not busy due to being end of season, evenings were spent walking to Cala Blanca. As normally for me, the staff are what make a Hotel, & every single member I spoke to, were all positive, warm & friendly. Special mention to Ana, who was effervescent & friendly during our whole stay. A true credit to the hotel & herself. I cannot pass comment on what the hotel would be like at the height of summer, but expect that the large layout of the grounds, would disperse any fears of a packed out environment. All in all, a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel.

This was our 4th stay to this hotel as we absolutely love the beautiful location of the hotel. This year we selected a one-bedroom suite. Last year we had a two-bedroom suite but we didn't like the view onto the busy road outside. The one-bedroomed suite was nice, however our view of the pool was completely obstructed by a very large tree. I had got in touch with hotel to ask for a pool view so it's a shame that we were stuck at the end looking at a tree for the week of our stay. Pros - the staff at Salt pool bar are amazing and the food is fabulous! The areas around the pool are spotless, cleaners are out every morning washing the ground. Staff throughout the hotel are lovely. Cons - the rooms are not as clean as they should be. We had this problem last year too when we asked to be moved rooms because they were dirty. The floor desperately needs scrubbed! The finishings are not clean and tidy either. We spoke to a few other families who found the same problem. Towels were often dirty, particularly those given out around the pool. The new slabbing around the pool at the suites is not slip-proof. We saw a number of children slip, including my own. Another few parents did mention this to the staff. I would imagine in July/August when it's busy that this would be treacherous for young children. When we checked in we were directed to the suite check in. Those who checked in in the main area received prosecco. We did not, even though we had paid more money, this seems a bit unfair. We will return hotel again but it's not worth the July prices (when we used to visit). I'm sure we will return again in october!

Our last day of 10 day stay, what a lovely hotel modern smells lovely like a spa. The staff are all so lovely and friendly ........the food in all areas excellent. We chose room only as we like to explore restaurants etc. But some of the best food was in the hotel, the club sandwiches amazing, the buffet at night was beautiful, so tasty. The seafood night was soooo tasty and the sunsets to die for. Overall an excellent experience, we had booked a suite but on arrival our daughter had arranged a room with pool....which was great, lovely surprise. ( As holiday company didn't offer that) Hotel grounds and all areas spotless and rooms cleaned daily if you chose. Love menorca been many times, usually do villas. We were here 8 weeks ago at Binibecca in a villa.... So wary of hotel but not disappointed, wish we had booked 15 days instead of 10. Well done Prinshotel we loved it

Just returned from a 4 night stay and it was great. We went during the first week of September and there were sun beds available at all time of the day by 10am none were really reserved, we’d go out in the morning and sit by the pool in the afternoon and never struggled to get sun beds which is so good in comparison to other hotels and the sun bed reserving issues and ‘sunbed wars’. The room was spacious and clean- we stayed in room 3220 and this was close to the lift, pool, had pool and sea view - would recommend. The evening entertainment was good especially the acrobats very enjoyable evening environment and entertainment. The hotel was closely situated to multiple beaches, restaurants and a supermarket. I wouldn’t recommend coming with teens/ older children as there’s not much to do in the area itself but we weren’t looking for that sort of holiday so this was ideal. The breakfast was good and had a large selection however pancakes/ waffles were always very cold which was disappointing. We went bed and breakfast and asked about the buffet for one evening but we believed £26 pp was quite expensive in comparison to restaurants near by. All staff were friendly and helpful. There is a bus stop just outside of the hotel that takes you into cuitadella which we did twice which was very good and convenient. We had lunch at the snack bar that was incredible. Would definitely return.

We have just returned from our 1st stay at Prinsotel la caletta. We were greeted by friendly staff and a complimentary glass of fizz. We stayed in a double room which was clean, basic and had a fridge which was a bonus. It was cleaned everyday by a lovely lady. She was always singing and so happy. The pool is lovely and well maintained but people hog sunbeds for hours and hours until they finally make an appearance late afternoon. I think this is something the hotel need to look at and enforce by removing unused towels. It's not fair on other guests. Food wise I wasn't impressed. Our first night at the grill we left most of our food as the chicken was pink and undercooked. It was also very expensive for what it is. And the buffet area looked amazing but the food was crawling with flies which was very off putting. Other hotels I have visited have used covers and other methods to keep them away but not here which spoils it. Overall a nice little holiday.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for 3 days with my mum and daughter. The staff are so friendly, especially Olivia on the front desk and the pool areas are fantastic. We didn’t have any trouble getting sun beds round the pool, although we where visiting at the back end of the school holidays. Not a lot of restaurants near by so chose to eat breakfast at the hotel which is buffet style. As we had booked a room only package we paid for breakfast at the hotel at a cost of €19 for Adults and €10 for Kids. This might sound pricey but doing it this way worked out more cost effective than adding breakfast to our package when booking the holiday with Jet2. In the evening we ate at a lovely restaurant directly to the back of the hotel, The Grill restaurant on site which I personally wouldn’t recommend and one evening we got a taxi to Ciutadella. I would definitely recommend going into Ciutadella to eat at night, it’s beautiful. The front desk will order you a taxi and then to return to the hotel there is a designated taxi area in Ciutadella. Taxis cost between €7 -€8 euros (taxis are cheaper during the day). I would definitely return to this hotel in the future.
