What a great place to relax after several hectic (and exciting ) days in Capetown. Less than a 2 hour drive along the coast, you reach the lovely area of Hermanus. We chose Arabella because of the proximity to the vineyards, but also because of the world class golf course & Spa. WE arrived early and was greeted warmly at the front desk by the lovely Ms. Zama. Although early, she said it would not be too long before the room was ready. She invited us to explore the property. That is what we did. My partner had already arranged his tee time for the morning. So, it was straight to the Spa for me. I made my appointments for the morning & met my extremely capable therapist. Mr. Curtley. We went back to the lobby & while having a cappuccino, Ms. Zama arrived with our room keys. After which we went to our room. A lovely garden & pool view. We then went out to explore the wine country. When we returned, we realized the room was warm. The Air Con was not working properly. (the TV was also not working, but that wasn't too important to us ) We phoned the front desk, a technician was dispatched. He told us that the problem was going to take a bit longer to fix. We left it to the experts, and went to the spa to enjoy the hydrotherapy pools before dinner. When we returned the a/c was perfect! They were unable to fix the tv. After a few minutes, the front desk phoned to update us. The efficient Mr. Vakalisa, the manager, asked me if the a/c was acceptable. I told him it was great. He apologized for the tv & offered to move us to another room. As it was not that important to us, we declined, but thanked him for his offer. My Vakalisa saw that we had reservations for dinner in the hotel and offered us a complimentary bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner. (Which was delicious!) The next morning after a very satisfying breakfast, My partner went to play golf & I headed to the Spa. The treatments were amazing! Mr. Curtley was perfect! We are looking forward to returning for another visit and hopefully we wil see Ms. Zama, Mr. Curtley, and Mr. Vakalisa when we do!
