We were in Vamos in 2005 and 2009. After 12 years, we returned in October 2021. We knew the accommodation from before, but had never stayed there before. Vamos is centrally located for tours. We were there for a week. At the beginning, two other apar**ents were occupied. Then a hiking group came and occupied almost all of the rooms. We were welcomed by Helena and her son. We were assigned a very large 1-room apar**ent in the left building on the ground floor. We had a terrace with chairs and a table with a view of the swimming pool and the mountains. The outdoor area made a good impression. The room was very spacious with a dining area including 2 sofa beds, 2 single beds, a complete small kitchen with sink, stove and refrigerator. There was also the option of going through another door into the rear garden. There you could dry laundry/towels on a clothes rack. The furnishings were a bit old, but everything was functional. As the outside temperature dropped to 10 degrees or less in the evenings, we had to use the air conditioning for heating. Unfortunately, it never got warmer than 20 degrees in the very large room. The bathroom was spacious. Unfortunately, the overall condition left a lot to be desired. The sink table was wobbly, the joints in front of the shower and in the lower shower area and the curtain in front of the window (directly in the shower) were moldy. The hotel is a family business. They are very hard-working and helpful. Every day we received cakes or Greek sweet pastries from Helena. Conclusion: Considering that the complex is a bit older but otherwise in good condition and the owner family is nice, we will return there when we travel to Crete. However, when we are allocated rooms, we will take a closer look at the bathroom and, if necessary, choose a different apar**ent.
