Tazawa Onsen Fujiya

I stayed with my wife for two nights on a weekday in early February during the coldest period of the year. The 8 tatami room had a large veranda and a large toilet. There was a washbasin on the veranda and a heater in the toilet. The white snow that had fallen in the garden outside the room blended beautifully with the garden. The hot spring is from the same source as the famous Uchiyu public bath. The Uchiyu source contains a lot of natural carbon dioxide, which makes the body slippery. This bath, 30 meters away, is not as hot, but it is still a wonderful hot spring with hot spring flowers dancing. The public Uchiyu hot spring is always crowded with people, while the indoor bath at the inn is not so crowded. The indoor and outdoor baths are always quiet, which is nice. The outdoor bath here has a large rock partition at the back, and there are foot and head rests for two people side by side, so you can see the starry night sky in full view. The slightly warm hot spring is perfect for a long bath. The food is also good. The balance of Japanese and Western styles is good, and the taste and appearance are all perfect. The portions are too large, so I wish they were a little smaller. Breakfast is also good. There is coffee next to it. I have visited many hot spring inns, but this was the best. My highest score on Trip was 4 out of 5, but this was the only one to get a perfect score of 5. The hot springs, food, and value for money were by far the best.
