Naif Boutique Hotel

I was very disappointed with one of the bay staff. I was a paying guest at the hotel and wanted to watch a Euros football game in the restaurant area and have a few drinks - the dining area was very quiet with only three other people who were having a drink and watching the game. I sat down and was told I couldn’t watch the game if I was only going to drink and not order food. I had to take my child and sit in the bar area and I couldn’t see the screen. What upset me was the three other guests didn’t order food and were allowed to sit at a table and two additional visitors who were not paying guests walked in and were allowed to watch the game and not order food. The dining area was empty throughout the game with many empty tables. All of these people sitting at tables (not ordering food) were male and I felt discriminated against and bullied because I was female with a child. The cleaners and hotel staff were nice but the one bar staff member (the one who spoke good English) ruined my experience at this hotel.
Hotel Eterna Primavera Antigua

This place is lovely and tranquil around a lush tropical garden. The rooms are high ceilinged and stone. It was spotlessly clean and very quiet. The hot water was great, and the room had a good fan. The free breakfast was made to order, and excellent. The location is maybe 2 blocks from the main plaza. There is a roof top deck which is good for views, but closed after 7 PM. There also isn't really any place to sit or hang out up there. We were here on a weekend, and noticed no noise from the outside.

Hotel Posada de la Luna
4.5/543 Reviews
This place is really lovely, the staff is very friendly and caring and the small courtyard is charming and beautiful. They serve breakfast (usually included in the price of accommodation) which is really fresh and delicious with eggs, beans, fruit, salsa etc. They serve coffee and have filtered water available plentifully. The views from the rooms are quite nice and the staff, again, is very caring. I took a solo hike to Acatanengo and the staff was worried about me (since it is HIGHLY unusual to do the hike unguided in a single day). They reached out to me to make sure i was okay and i thought that was beyond great service. Overall would stay here again and would HIGHLY recommend
Posada San Sebastian

This small guesthouse style hotel is just so sweet and charming. We loved it here. The manager Hugo is the nicest person ever and we enjoyed talking to him. He has worked here for 28 years. The rooms are full of antiques and the beds were comfortable. There were jugs in the corridor providing free drinking water. There’s also a kitchen where coffee is brewing every morning although they do not serve breakfast. There is a terrace upstairs with a volcano view. And a small courtyard and seating area on the ground floor. The location is great close to everywhere you want to be. The room is very clean however if you are the kind of person who needs everything very clean and minimalist you will hate this place because it is full of antiques everywhere you look. Some of the small rooms on the ground floor seemed rather dark but our room had nice French doors with light. my friends favorite room was upstairs. If I came back to Antigua I would definitely stay here. Hi Hugo!
Hotel Museo Spa Casa Santo Domingo
4.4/5102 Reviews
I've visited Casa Santo Domingo a few times for events, but this was my first time staying. It's a lovely, dramatic hotel. Fixtures and decore of the rooms is a bit dated, but the hotel is built around a historic experience. Morning and afternoon coffee and morning sweetbread was excellent. Pool is lovely and there is a really nice green space for kids to run around. Returned in the evening to light jazz playing on the TV and the room straightened, which was a nice touch. Unfortunately did not have the chance to visit the restaurant, but the Guatemalan food buffet has a great reputation. The underground parking (free) is a great benefit.
