We enjoyed our recent stay at Villa Mirae for our mini-moon. The hotel is relatively new and has been finished to a high standard. The hotel is also relatively small which overall creates a very welcoming atmosphere. We stayed in an executive room for 4 nights. The room was clean and comfortable, with the daily turn down service and beauty products a particularly nice feature. The interiors were very tasteful. The pool area and private Solarium on the nearby Garupe Beach also provided a great environment to relax throughout the day. In terms of other services, the spa was in a strange wooden hut and massages quite expensive (€165 for 1 hour). The hotel also does not include a gym, and you need to travel 2km to Juan les Pins for the nearest location which was logistically challenging. The hotel does not offer any car services or even hotel bikes to navigate the local area, which we would expect to be available for a ‘5 star hotel.’ The dining facilities were mediocre. Breakfast options were quite limited with the service often below par (for example, one morning we didn’t receive what we ordered and when told the service wasn’t good that day the response was “it happens”). The hotel has both a brasserie, and fine dining restaurant, for either lunch or dinner. We ate at the Brasserie on our first day, but found other local restaurants were of better standard with views of the sea. The fine dining restaurant was always empty and felt like wasted space. The bar areas were similarly under-utilised, with no views. They could utilise one of the roof terraces as a bar. The staff were friendly but were not particularly helpful in booking local restaurants. For example, we wanted to eat dinner at the Grill restaurant at Eden Roc which they couldn’t deliver on (after suggesting they had a particularly close relationship, and it would be possible). In this case, the staff were also not proactive in offering alternative options and we had sort our own booking at a different restaurant Overall, we would recommend staying here but the addition/improvement of health facilities, better dining options, and more proactive customer service is needed
