Fantastic hotel situated in an incredibly well-preserved Ming dynasty village. Our hosts were very accommodating and the room was fantastic - very clean and a comfortable bed! There are many things to see here, including a Buddhist temple of 500 years one of the mountains the town in nestled beneath. Far different from the new old towns we saw in Lijiang and shangri-la, this village is the real deal and just unbelievable to walk through and explore. We also enjoyed walking down to the nearby town outside the gates. The Karst mountains in this area are extremely dramatic and beautiful to behold. There is a speciality coffee shop and a place to get breakfast near the gate - we suspect that we were visiting outside of peak time as it was generally quiet but that suited us just fine. The host made us wonton and dumpling soup in a vegetable broth which was very nice. The hosts are very kind and they have prepared a wonderful place from which to explore this very special village. It is about a 40 minute taxi from Anshun West station and 20-30 minute taxi into Anshun city. Thank you!

I would give this place a 10/10. It feels like you are transported back in time. The rooms are clean, modern and very cozy. The owner arranged a vegetarian meal for us in the restaurant next door, it was great!

Located in the center of a beautiful ancient village, I was born art hotel is a cute traditional local house. The owners are very helpful and kind. Breakfast isn’t included but we had a delicious bowl of wontons in their small restaurant.
Room was very clean and has a projector if you want to watch movies or tv shows on youku (can easily find english ones).
Highly recommend staying there !

The village is worth your time, with locals in costume re-playing an ancient wedding and masked fighters. Well done and not too kitch. Villagers were very welcoming.
Also highly recommend a short climb to the temple on top of the mountain.

The decoration of Yisu is very good, which is my favorite style. The boss and the boss lady are also very nice. There is no hustle and bustle here. After nightfall, the lights are on and the mountain breeze is blowing. I think about what summer would be like six hundred years ago. I think I will come again in winter. It may be chilly, but the four seasons rotate, who doesn't like the fireworks of the world?

A lovely homestay/guesthouse on the old street of Yunshan. The room is quietly situated and overlooks the rustic courtyard. What an idyllic spot. You'll feel transported back hundreds of years in time.
Be sure to ask your taxi to take you past the barriers downstairs to the gate higher up. Then you only have to walk another 80 meters in the pedestrian zone.
In March 2025, they were renovating some houses at the beginning of the street in the old style, but it didn't cause any noise disturbance and was almost finished.
Few restaurants are open in Yunshan in March, but the owner/family is happy to cook you a delicious meal in the evening.

A very stylish homestay, the owner and the owner's wife are also very nice. They arrived late at night and cooked hot wontons for us, which was very warm.
