Quinta do Outeiro

What a gem!! A beautifully restored Quinta with lots of attention to detail. The view is spectacular (over the vineyards and beyond), the rooms very comfortable and the breakfast is delicious. Very friendly staff, especially Filipe, who goes out of his way to make your stay the very best. He is knowledgeable about the area, super helpful and provides lots of insights. My husband and I spent a few nights here earlier in July and did not want to leave. The property has 3 pools, vineyards, patios, a chapel and even a crows nest with spectacular 360 views. Highly recommend this small boutique hotel in the Douro Valley.

Super clean, well appointed and excellently maintained hotel. Beautiful views of the valley and Douro river. We had two large king sized rooms with own access to the pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful - especially the evening porter, who had to stay back for our very late arrival. The hotel has it's own working winery and the wine was really good and reasonably priced for a hotel. Breakfast was great. Unfortunately no lunch or dinner were available due to staff shortages , but the overall experience more than made up for this slight inconvenience. Would definitely recommend.

From the moment of arrival we knew that this was a place to relax and unwind. Nestled in the Douro Valley and spread over several acres the Quinta has the feeling of staying in your own little private village, the properties are scattered around the grounds and as you take a stroll you encounter the various other accommodations all centered near the main house. We stayed in the Boedeaux house at the top of the hill, it was very secluded with wonderful views of the countryside. Our room/apartment felt very luxurious with all of the modern facilities, in front of the house was a shared swimming pool for use by the 4 sets of guests on that part of the property although we basically had it to ourselves. A wander through the vineyard is a must, there were delicious grapes, oranges, apples, tomatoes and a splendid persimmon tree ripe for the picking. A look inside the private chapel is a must while you ponder the nearby grotto. However what made our stay extra special were the great staff, they were attentive to every need and nothing was too much trouble everything from check in to departure went very smoothly.
