River Lodge Hotel Insolite

The River Lodge is a digital hotel. No possibility, for example, of changing the breakfast time. Delivery between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to the door of the room…. Despite an email to have lunch at 7:30 a.m., they remained inflexible because delivery by a caterer… The rooms are very small despite the mezzanine. We feel oppressed. Minimalist bathroom, no storage space. Toilet in the bathroom, without door. Poorly arranged lounge area, the armchairs are opposite the TV and we end up on a chair to watch it. In short, very disappointed with this room billed at more than €200 per night. Breakfast product out of date, power socket lying on the floor, missing switch (see photos)

Original and very clean room. We had booked the Titanic room which is very nicely decorated with lighting effects. The breakfast is excellent and very generous. It is made from local and/or organic products. The reception staff are friendly. All that is missing is air conditioning (installation planned). We hope to be able to come back and try another room. Good value for money. To advice.

We stayed with a Wonderbox and paid extra to have the "Strasse et Elégance" suite. First of all, we must emphasize the very good reception received. Our suite was truly superb and large. We recommend it. Breakfast was plentiful and more than enough for us but late for us (9am). The setting is magnificent as is the establishment. Suggestions: - Consider wearing a bathing cap - separate the toilet lighting from the shower lighting because by turning it on just to go to the toilet, you start the shower ventilation, ventilation which is noisy and which remains for a long time before to turn off Note: For breakfast, it is possible to request it the day before if you want it early. You just need to know that everything will be cold and not hot like that served at 9 a.m. (croissants, pain au chocolat, etc.). But that doesn't matter because we had a very good stay there.

Warm welcome, complete explanations, the room is clean and the shower area is very nice. Negative point of the room: Too small, more of a galaxy theme than Krypton (Superman), and great lack of natural light but also interior lighting. The meal system needs to be improved, eating in the room was very complicated given the obvious lack of space (fortunately the weather was nice and there was a terrace). We were a little disappointed with the meals. 6 terrines (so-called local terrines) to share between 2. the quantity with the terrines was not representative of what you can eat for a normal meal in a restaurant. If we had been two good eaters, we would have been left hungry and would have had to eat elsewhere. As for the quality, we left half because either not to our taste or very poor quality (sour wheat salad and questionable smoked salmon, after that we certainly had no luck). Aside from the foie gras and salmon, we didn't know what we were going to eat and in the end it would be good to inform customers more precisely about what is planned for the meals. We are not sure that the meals are organic and seasonal as advertised on the site. We had a bad night, the fridge made a hell of a noise every time it started (I should point out that we had put it on "1" as the service had suggested to us) . The toilet ventilation is extremely noisy and lasts a long time. It was not a very hot period but it was very hot in the rooms. Opening the window was not an option since we were going to get eaten by insects. The reception ends at 7 p.m. so the only way to contact them is with an emergency number. Very disturbing when you have requests to make. Fair price per night for 2 people. Price of services and minibar too expensive for what it is.

We often travel in hotels but we wanted to try unusual accommodation. They inspire and are currently on the rise. So we chose the room in the heart of the mountains. We receive a warm welcome and are taken to our room, it is cozy but smaller than it appears when booking. However, we find the price to be totally overrated. For breakfast, we chose "laughing crayfish" at 21 euros/person, this one is advertised on the site as superior. I quote “We can enhance your breakfast with little taste surprises: scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries and even… champagne!” Let's start with the champagne... Or rather the half bottle of crémant which must be worth 7 euros and I'm being nice... If we advertise champagne, we put champagne or else we advertise sparkling wine. For the rest, for us nothing exceptional breakfast: canned orange juice, 1 mini croissant and 1 mini pain au chocolat per person and 2 mini rolls per person, these are frozen products cooked on site, yogurt Danone, ... Senseo coffee machine... Given the price of the room, a Nespresso would not be a luxury. In short, we are happy to have done it once but it is not at all worth the asking price, we will not go back. We had stayed in a (luxury) guest room the day before which gave us better satisfaction.
