Andong Gurume Resort

The Gurume Resort in Andong is beautiful and architecturally very interesting. We enjoyed the historical atmosphere and the breakfast very much.

The location of this hotel feels like it’s hidden away in the hills but in reality you can walk down to the river in 10 to 15 minutes where there are lovely walks, some cafes and a lovely old wooden bridge across the river to more cafes. There are also some cool moon boats which look great at night when they’re all lit up in different colours. The rooms are located in what I think are original houses and vary in size and shape because they are all individual. The restaurant is in a separate building which is also a traditional style. They also have a modern coffee shop in the complex. Due to it's location the complex is really peaceful and very picturesque and a lovely place to wind down and relax. Ours was a one bedroom house with a bedroom, lobby/hallway with a sofa, and a large modern bathroom with an enormous round bath as well as a separate shower cubicle. It also had a lovely big veranda at the front. We found it very comfortable. The bedroom had traditional mattresses on the floor but they were quite thick and comfortable.

Almost everything was perfect but didnt have clear instructions for check-in and check-out. Plus, no sign anywhere in property to show where to go for check-in. Had to call the property to ask and the staff said to wait as he would come and get us. He came with a gilf cart and took us to our “room” and gave instructions in how to lock and unlock our property.

The place is magic, so beautiful and quiet. The staff was super kind and helpful. Unique experience
