Just returned from a 3 night stay at the Britannia Bolton hotel having read reviews I was not looking forward to our stay but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived, reception and corridors all spotless and the room we received was clean, comfortable and bathroom looked like it had just been upgraded, the staff were all pleasant and looked after you very well. Our morning started with a lovely breakfast good selection of cooked items as well as cereal's, toast etc not a large choice for evening meal but the price you pay couldn't complain.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Inn Express Wigan and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm and friendly service from the staff. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with all the amenities I needed for a pleasant stay. The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. The hotel also offers a complimentary breakfast each morning, which was a great way to start the day. The selection of food was impressive, with a variety of hot and cold options to choose from. The location of the hotel is also excellent, with easy access to the town center and nearby attractions. Plus, the ample on-site parking made it easy to come and go as I pleased. Overall, I highly recommend the Holiday Inn Express Wigan to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in the area. The staff, accommodations, and location all exceeded my expectations, and I look forward to staying here again in the future.

Visited for one night on Monday 22/08 perfect welcome - everyone was friendly, attentive and very informative. Also the check out was just as perfect. Room was perfectly clean and very good value! The hotel is not really in Chorley, being located to the south west and some distance, from Chorley. It is situated on a motorway service area which is only accessible from the northbound M6. Exit is onto the northbound M6 too. This means that you have a rather long trek along the motorway if you are intending to access local amenities - or CHORLEY. It's fine as a stopover if you are actually travelling north on the M6. The hotel required more information at check-in the most do these days and they insist on you registering a debit/credit card at reception for a room deposit. No money is taken unless you damage something but they have carte blanche to take money and argue with you later should they so choose. Very few (none in my recent experience) hotels take such measures these days. In the era of fraud and identity theft it is never ideal to hand over information of any kind. The room was very comfortable and well appointed but the shower was very slippery. There were notices in the bathroom but some effort to make the bathroom less hazardous would be more useful. Overall there are better alternatives locally that do not require card details and are much easier to get to by car, and indeed public transport or cycle. Go elsewhere for the same standard of accomodation without the hassle.

Initial impressions weren't great as in all fairness Blackburn isn't the prettiest of towns, but once I'd got parked I soon changed my mind. The receptionist was great and I was soon in my large, well-equipped bedroom. The room and the sumptuous bathroom were absolutely spotless, and I had a good night's sleep followed by a tasty breakfast.

I like this hotel and have stayed here a few times. It is well located near Blackburn just off the M65 at junction 5. The on site pub is nice and there are also numerous places nearby where you can socialise and eat and drink. The room is of a high standard and modern, the bathroom is more than adequate for shaving or doing makeup properly. The room was warm and comfortable even though it was quite cold outside. Check-in is straight forward and handled in the adjoining pub. Once you have checked in your key card gives you access into the hotel accommodation. There is a night porter available when the pub is closed but you won't see staff in the hotel accomodation apart from housekeepers in the morning so it's useful if a little discretion is required.

The environment is okay. There is a Hong Kong receptionist on duty in the morning. She is very polite and hard-working👍
