Gutta Cavat Lapidem is a small group of people who work, live and travel together. This review is by our oldest member. The Hotel is located between the center and the Passetto, next-door to the very good Ristorante Il Giardino. That is the only positive note I can offer. Unfortunately, there is NO MENTION of FOUR FLIGHTS (to the 2nd floor) of stairs in the description of the Hotel. I rang their intercom to ask for help. The response was to buzz me in and hang up. At 77 years old I was forced to climb four flights of stairs (two floors) carrying my luggage. Unwilling to face the stairs again, I ordered the only thing available for dinner: a toast and a coffee. A miniscule piece of slightly sour ham on two slices of dry, bad quality pancarrè. But at least the breakfast caffè was decent. My room was cramped and shabby, nothing like the photos that were attached to the confirmation email. It reeked of disinfectant. The bathroom was dingy, with worn-out fixtures. The feeling was one of neglectfulness, a lack of love. The next morning I found that my car had been ticketed. I rang the Hotel to ask if there was anything they could do about this, given the fact that the preceding evening I had asked about parking. They hung up on me. So I have a parking violation to pay. I’ve always cheerfully accepted some hardships in my many travels. Hotel Vittoria’s "silent treatment" may have been my first real experience of gendered ageism. "Simpatia" and consideration would have been nice.

We in Gutta Cavat Lappidem are a small group of people who work, live and travel together. This review is by our oldest member. A good review for anyone interested in travel for older people. ~  ~ ~ ~ ~ Other than the location itself, which is fine, as it is between the center and the Passetto, and the fact that hotel is right next-door to the Ristorante Il Giardino, a restaurant that I have known and liked for years, I cannot find anything really positive to say about my stay at the Hotel della Vittoria. Shocking to note that there is NO MENTION of the FOUR FLIGHTS (to the 2nd floor) of hotel stairs in the description of the Hotel. Unfortunately, the message that they sent me saying that they did not have an elevator did not arrive until I was already at the hotel. I rang their intercom from the street to ask for help. The response was to silently buzz me in, but nothing more. So at 77 years old I was forced to climb four flights of stairs (two floors) carrying my luggage, after an extremely trying and difficult day. The stairs were so daunting that I did not go out to dinner, preferring to just remain in my suffocating little room. I was able to order the only thing available: a “toast“ and a coffee. The "toast" was a miniscule piece of slightly sour ham on two slices of dry, bad quality pancarrè. How could anyone serve such a poor excuse for a sandwich to a client, much less charge money for it, is beyond my comprehension. But at least one of the staff had tried, and I was grateful for that, and for the decent breakfast caffè americano and cornetto, also brougt to the room. For the rest, "simpatia" and hospitality are abstract concepts to the owners and staff of the Hotel della Vittoria. The hotel is shabby. My room was tiny and cramped, nothing like the photos that were attached to the confirmation email. It could not be called “dirty”, exactly, as it reeked of disinfectant. But that is not the same as sparklingly clean, and the same could be said of the bathroom, with dingy, worn-out fixtures. The feeling was one of neglectfulness, a lack of love. I enquired about parking permits for the streets near the hotel. The person at reception was strangely disconnected and unresponsive. Was I invisible and inaudible? She mumbled something vague and incomprehensive. I was not told that I had to purchase the permit and then take it down to my car. Had they told me that, I could not have faced the stairs again in any case. I was exhausted and it was raining. The next morning I descended the steps (again, no help with luggage) and found that my car had been ticketed. I rang the Hotel della Vittoria’s intercom from the street to ask if there was anything they could do about this, given the fact that the preceding evening I had asked about parking. The response from the person at reception was to simply hang up the intercom. That was it. So I have a parking violation to pay. I travel quite a lot, and I’ve always

Comfortable, clean and well maintained. 10 minutes walk to city center and all attractions. Very helpful staff. Good value for money, good wi-fi. Very small room and poor breakfast. Lack of space, lack of food.

Comodo come posizione e parcheggio.
