Me and my wife we stayed in this great hotel for 5 days , hotel is in good location closed to many tourists places . Great staff in front office , F & b as well nice team . House keeping is good in term keeping our room neat and tidy . The food is good and breakfast is nice set menu . The best coffee they have . I have tried the outlet on the roof it was nice ambiance and good welcoming team . Definitely I will visit again this hotel and I will recommend to all of my friends and families who want to visit Antananarivo in future . We stayed here twice with a few days in between. Our first stay was great! The rooms are lovely, spacious and clean. The restaurant was closed but the outside bar served nice food (only 2 veggie options), though a little noisy and cold (they gave us blankets when we asked). Our second stay was awful! We had two rooms booked, but they said we only had one. We had to wait several hours in reception for this to be sorted with no apology from staff. When we came to check out, they said they hasn’t received the money from lastminute.com and asked us to pay again. I showed proof of payment, but they said they didn’t have it so wanted me to pay. I refused! They asked me to call lastminute.com to sort out the payment transfer to them. I explained that everything on my end was complete and that they could sort it out with the tour operator not me. Also on our second stay the food was terrible - the zebu fillet was completely inedible. When we told the staff they didn’t even acknowledge this problem.

I have stayed ２ times so far. Although it is an old hotel, the location is good and you can be satisfied with the hotel services such as breakfast, sports gym and spa. However, at midnight, the hotel staff had invaded with the key. At 2:30 midnight from August 19th to 20th, 2023, a male hotel staff used the key to enter the room with a woman. When I yelled, they hurried out, and for a while they were quarreling in the hallway, and then the staff called, ”I'm sorry I opened it because I thought it was an empty room.” The next day I went to the front desk to complain, but it was not reported and it seemed to be erased among the staff. So far there is no official apology from the hotel. Those who stay should put chairs or suitcases in front of the door and be careful not to physically open the door. I have stayed here twice now. Although it is an older hotel, hotel services such as breakfast, gym, and spa are satisfactory. However, one time, the hotel staff used a duplicate key late at night to gain entry. On August 19-20, 2023, a male hotel staff member entered the room with a female using a duplicate key at 2:30 a.m. When I yelled at them, they left in a hurry and argued in the hallway for a while. Later, I received a phone call and stuff saying, ”I thought it was an empty room and opened it, I'm sorry.” The next day, Sunday morning I went to the front desk to complain, but it was not reported to reception and seemed to have been hushed among the staff. So far, there has been no formal apology from the hotel. Those who are staying at the hotel should be vigilant to make sure that the door cannot be physically opened by placing a chair or suitcase in front of the door.

Hotel Le Grand Mellis Antananarivo is a 3 star hotel. I stayed in room 209 on September 13th 2019. The hotel is located in a busy city center area and was undergoing renovation. Entry to the hotel is through a glass door. The lobby is kind of small. The reception staff is friendly, helpful and can communicate in English with some degree of difficulty yet service is substandard. I have noticed very active clean girls doing the cleaning. They are extremely friendly and work very hard. Room is a little tight, but reasonably furnished. The room has no view and is located top of the hotel kitchen. The room is full of odors released from kitchen exhaust. I was not able to change room because the hotel was fully booked. The room has a small fridge and a mini bar. It also has a split air conditioning unit, I am not sure if it is operational or not. Toilet is renovated with a shower cabinet and hotel branded set of towels. You also get two free 500ml water bottles a day. The hotel has a business center, gym and massage parlor and a new glass elevator. You are expected to pay for breakfast. Breakfast buffet is small which is expected for such a small hotel. It included beans, noodles, and fish. Salad and very scanty selection of cheese. Muesli, raisins, nuts and yoghurt. Bread, croissants and cake. Drinks included juices, coffee and tea. The buffet is manned, which made me a little uncomfortable. I like to pick my own food without having someone following me while picking my food. In summary, you will find most of the facilities that you find in a 5 star hotel in a smaller scale or may be shabby. It is suitable for budget travelers that are not very picky and suitable for businessmen and professionals.

Not recommended, the reason is that it is far from the tourist attractions, the price/performance ratio is not high, many hotels in Tana are under the name of Radisson 😸, the whole East Africa, Radisson franchise stores are everywhere, but this Radisson is located in the suburbs, I have lived in the Radisson apartment in the old town, it is within walking distance to the tourist attractions, this one is a bit far, you have to take a taxi, and to be honest, I don't think it is special, it is more than 100 yuan expensive for no reason, more importantly: the free airport shuttle is nonsense, nonsense, nonsense 😭😭, just take a taxi yourself, emails are not replied, you have to call to book a pick-up, the price is twice that of the airport taxi, more locals come, the reason is that there is a cinema next to it, suitable for weekends, after all, locals don't go to tourist attractions 😭

My wife and i stayed here twice while travelling around Madagascar in September. The accommodation was very clean and of a very good standard. Staff were very helpful and friendly, the restaurant provided good food in the evening as well as an excellent breakfast with plenty of choices and there was some live music in the evening. It is in a really good location, walking distance to the main market area, as well as close to several sights. We would unhesitatingly stay here again and definitely recommend it.

A very good value-for-money hotel close to the hubbub of the city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the only down side being the poor drainage of the shower, hence having to deal with a wet bathroom floor! There is a desk in the room with tea and coffee facilities, considered quite a luxury here. The first night we stayed here I had to contend with the neighboring night club music until the early hours of the morning, but I assume this is not a daily occurrence. The breakfast included was substantial and had a good variety of pastries. Most impressively they were able to serve me a cappuccino! The rooftop bar has a lovely ambience for evening sundowners, but the prices are a bit steep. The chocolate rhum arrange, however, was well worth the dear treat!! The concierge is very helpful in that they even organised us a taxi to and from our restaurant of choice for the evening. There is a spa and gym facilities also available on site. The hotel is also situated within walking distances to restaurants, shops and ATMs. All in all, a good, comfortable stay!
