Il Carrubo Capri

We were very lucky to spend part of our honeymoon at Il Carrubo, Capri. This place is so special. It is heaven on earth! There are only 6 rooms and so it feels very exclusive to stay here. The rooms are very stylish and tasteful. It is an extremely peaceful location. The outdoor terrace has a stunning view overlooking the sea. There is an outdoor pool on the terrace, which is clean and modern. There are lots of very comfortable loungers, no issues with availability. Breakfast is cooked to order and served outdoors under a pergola with a sea view. Perhaps our favourite part of our stay was our lovely hosts - Carino, Alice and Michele. They were so helpful in recommending and booking restaurants and trips, they even helped us get around the island! Such lovely people who really worked hard in making this the trip of a lifetime for us. We loved every single minute of our stay here, and will definitely return in the future. If it is available, my advice is to just book it - you will not regret it.

The view is purely magical. The room was very beautiful & clean. We felt very well taken care of & the hosts of this fabulous villa were EXTREMELY kind & helpful in every way. Get it before its gone . Stunning location caring staff sparkling clean all white interior. Breakfast is homemade delicious. The owners run the place and are available for any help. The bus & taxis are conveniently available right outside the villa. It’s a most unique experience. Highly recommend the beautiful property.

Beautiful hotel and gorgeous staff. Can’t fault this hotel at all. The breakfasts on the terrace each morning was divine and the helpfulness and recommendations of the staff were fantastic. The rooms were beautiful as well. If you want to get away from the crowds of capri this is a fantastic hotel.

This is one of the best properties we have stayed in around the world. The entire experience from booking all the way to departing was outstanding. Corino, Alice and Michele are the kindest owners and the hardest working hosts. Their genuine and personalized approach made our stay unforgettable. From choosing our preferred room to arranging boat/vespa/dinner reservations to taking us to/from the ferry to preparing the most delicious meals - it was all such a breezy experience and a real pleasure. The villa is so tastefully renovated and decorated, blending beautifully the original floors and furnishings with lots of natural light, bright and art pieces. The vast and lush gardens, panoramic pool, carob pergola all offer the perfect setting to relax and indulge in nature, blissful sunsets, and delicious breakfast and lunch. Enjoying limoncello spritz, home made local pasta and freshly baked daily cakes was so dreamy. Thank you, dear Corino, Alice and Michele. We look forward to coming back!

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at Il Carrubo Capri. Be prepared. This property is relatively remote and located at the far end of the island from the ferry port—close to the famous Blue Grotto (closed due to rough seas during our visit). The owners, Alice and Michele, inherited the property from their grandmother who used it as a holiday home. This is as close to staying in your own private villa as you are likely to find at a reasonable price for Anacapri! The island of Capri is divided into 2 main sections; Capri and Anacapri. If you are looking for calm, quiet and a more authentic experience away from cruise ship passengers and hordes of daytrippers, Anacapri is the way to go. Il Carrubo Capri is located in a beautiful setting with lush gardens and a gorgeous sunset view over the pool area and sea. So peaceful to sip a limoncello spritz while enjoying the pool and sea view and enjoying the sounds of birds. This property is run as a bed and breakfast and the breakfast was delicious! They also offer a limited menu of fantastic homemade pasta dishes for lunch or early dinner upon request. They also offer refreshing cocktails which were greatly appreciated. Alice and Michele could not have been nicer hosts! We felt as though we made new friends. So enjoyable to chat with them and other guests. It made for a very memorable experience. Molto grazie!! Be aware that you cannot rent a car on Capri/Anacapri. The roads are very narrow and tricky to navigate. Unless you are willing to rent a scooter and take your life in your hands (no exaggeration). you will need to take the small local bus to Anacapri and another bus from Anacapri into Capri Town or take a VERY expensive taxi to and fro. The bus stop is right outside the gate of Il Carrubo Capri, but the bus does not run very frequently. At the time of writing this review, we discovered from a local resident while waiting for the bus that the 9:25 am bus (only once a day) goes all the way into Capri Town without having to change buses in Anacapri. Unfortunately, at night, the return bus runs even less frequently than regular day service (with no direct service from Capri Town), so plan accordingly. Beware that taxi fares at night are outrageous (bad enough during the day). If you understand the bus schedule and can adjust your sightseeing accordingly, you can make this work.

Amazing B&B with friendly staff, chic rooms, and a gorgeous view of the sea. The pictures on their website are accurate but don’t even do the place justice. The entire property is recently renovated and all the fine details are there. And the views can only be fully appreciated in person. What really makes this place stand out is the staff — they are all super friendly, eager to please, speak fluent English, and will help you plan your days on the island.

Il Carrubo is a magical place to stay with a breathtaking yet convenient location (I much prefer Anacapri to Capri), a warm and helpful staff, beautiful grounds, spacious and comfortable accommodations, and a feeling that you are truly away from realty. I could go into all the little details, but this review would become ridiculously long. Just know that we are a hard-to-please couple and there is nothing I can say negative about this property. And a special shout out to Corino who was simply the best. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Of all the wonderful places we stayed while in Napoli and the Amalfi Coast--Il Carrubo is a place I hope to stay again for a longer period of time.

From the moment you step on the grounds, the staff is there to support your every need. The views from the pool are breathtaking. Breakfast is served daily and you won't want to miss it. From fresh-baked cakes to delectably mastered eggs and toast, the Carrubo staff does everything right during the complimentary daily breakfast. If you need to unwind and want to decompress by a pool, I recommend you book this place. The quiet air is filled with aromas from the fresh flowers all around the beautiful property. A short walk to a great beach along a pedestrian path allows you the opportunity to choose between relaxing next to a pool all day or the gorgeous blue waters of Gradola beach. There are pedestrian pathways that take you directly to Anacapri and Gradola beach, a beautiful 12-minute walk to each on a carless path that is dotted with flowers and beautiful private villas. Lunch is offered from 12 pm to 7 pm daily at the hotel. The food is made fresh by an in-house chef that knows his way around the kitchen. The Limon pasta dish is world-class. The hotel also offers full coffee service, wine, champagne, a full bar, and snacks to pair with your beverages while you lounge by the pool. If room service is more your thing, all you have to do is send a message to the front desk and a friendly staff member will deliver food and drink to your room. I recommend ordering a cappuccino in the morning, the coffee is so flavorful and rich. Now, to the rooms. WOW! The rooms are decorated beautifully. The mattresses are very comfortable and every room has powerful air conditioning units, and the maid service ensures your room is spotless. At night the villa is so quiet and peaceful. This is by far the best bed and breakfast I've ever stayed in.
