Meininger Hotel Amsterdam City West

Location of the hotel is fantastic, away from all the busy streets of central Amsterdam, but with sloterdijk train station literally next door you can be in the heart of Amsterdam or schiphol airport within minutes. Booked a family room that easily sleeps four people and very clean. Seems to be a busy hotel, with a lot of noise that go on in to the early hours of the morning. Check in was simple, arrived around 11am and checked in within minutes. Unfortunately even tho our room was ready at 11am the guy on reception wouldn’t give us the room keys until 3pm. So not sure if they are really strict on the 3pm check in policy or just having a bad day. Even tho I have a couple of negative points about this hotel, I do still recommend it due to the location.

I have never stayed in any hotel where the walls were this thin. Actually the sound comes from the windows from both adjacent rooms. The guests are mostly school students and younger people: so they are loud to say the least. You won’t need loud neighbors to hear every conversation around you. If you are at a moment in your life where sleep for your family is important, I strongly suggest looking for other options. There are plenty bugdet options in Amsterdam and you deserve it. Cleanliness is also a minus . In our first night we got here late, and we got a very dirty blanket. Since room service is not available at night, the young clerk in charge didn’t even know where to find a new clean one. He changed us the room, but in the new one they didn't clean the bathroom waste basket from the previous guests. The breakfast options are very basic, but ok. Access is not the best. With google maps you’ll be guided to a p+r parking, which will be free of charge if you park after 19:00 on working days or free on weekends. From there you will have to walk around the block with your luggage *upstairs* - no ramp provided. Consider this if they are heavy or you have mobility issues. The hotel also offers a parking lot for a higher price, where an elevator is available.

bad hotel!!! dont go i had a rat in my room the food was sooooiooo badddddd my family and me were so disappointed with the room there was no bed for my child he had to sleep on the floor? not good at all dont gooo!!!!!! there are no windows in the room

Staff excellent. Rooms very good, clean, comfy. Great transport close. The bad. This place attracts the noisy, obnoxious crowd. Its hard to get to sleep because of people making noise all around. Kids, teens, party goers this is the place for you. Anyone wanting to get some sleep dont bother. It completely spoils the good parts of the place. Also 1 broken microwave for ALL of the people in a self service kitchen, hopeless. I jug for boiling water in the whole place. Useless. So Tired. Never again.

The reception staff is really pleasant, the room was well-organised, I had four towels in my room, and the atmosphere is stunning. There is also a guest kitchen where you can microwave food or make a quick meal if needed. In addition, it's only a 5-minute metro ride to Amsterdam Central, I 100% recommend this hotel.

Good. But food was scuttery staff weren't nice people rooms were very small for the price and hair left in the shower.Tv doesn't work awful smell in the corridor. Room key stopped working after a day.not a lot of space for luggage beds were small as well and i found chewing gum on the side of my bed.
