Cozy and convenient
Good and convenient location. The room was a bit smaller than anticipated. The shower sink and toilet were very very close together. The bed was comfy and the place was clean. Walls are thin so you can sometimes hear your neighbor and the people walking around upstairs. Check in/out was quick and easy. You also have the option to rent their bikes but require cash on you. As long as you don’t mind some sound at night and tight spaces this place is okay.

Ok hotel for a short stay
The hotel is much older than it looks in the pictures, I had two chairs in my room and both were partially broken, kind of unstable. All the furniture is very old, in general.
The room however was very clean and the bed was comfy enough.
It's a little bit noisy and too much light enters the room in the morning, the curtains don't block it enough.
Also there was some unclarity about the payment, that seems to be solved (hopefully), but still isn't the best way to start your stay.

Everything was great apart from a quilt each on a double bed - a bit odd and some splashes of something in one of the drawers. I would still definitely recommend.

No Overnight Attendant
Stairs were steep but that wasn’t a problem. Rooms were tight which is expected but we had a fire alarm go off at 5am and nobody is on site overnight so the alarm didn’t get checked until 7am so all the guests just stood outside the entire time… No staff onsite made it difficult to call a cab since we don’t speak Dutch and if we needed anything, nobody was there. Also, we were on the 4th floor and when you open the window, there is 1 bar holding you in. You can easily slip under or fall over that bar and that’s not safe. Besides that, typical European room.

The photos of the room did not match reality. The room was furnished with beat up furniture. The walls had not been painted in many years. Trim was missing on the door frame. Old carpeting. Just generally not much care to the quality of the rooms here at all which is unfortunate because it is so expensive. The best thing about the hotel was the lift so that you don’t break your neck on the super steep staircase. The staff was nice enough and they offer a convenient breakfast. Would not recommend.

320 Euro for a simple room without breakfast is totally overpriced and I feel being ripped of. A simple room in a small 3 star hotel . I have stayed at hotels working feel this is really over the top. Amsterdam wants to reduce tourism and it feels indeed that it now simply trying to cash in and doesn't care about tourists.

Great location at walking distance from most sights, as well as the direct bus 397 to/from Leidseplein/Shiphol, super serviceminded and friendly staff, clean and large room with nice beds. Fresh rolls and croissants++ for breakfast, and each morning a huge smile from the receptionist. They only have 16 rooms, and we could hear the neighbouring guests laughing at some point, but otherwise very quiet. Classical, steep and narrow staircase, and they have an (European sized) elevator. Remember to email your expected arrival time, and keep them updated in case of delays, as reception closes at 10 pm. Would definitely recommend staying here!
