Es war die Überraschung zum Geburtstag: Amphawa Floating Market, Mae Klong Train Market und Übernachtung im Chuchai Buri Sri. Öffnet man die Hoteltür, Personal gab es dafür nicht, kommt man zunächst in eine sehr beeindruckende Halle. Das Auge weiß gar nicht, was es als erstes betrachten soll. Check in verlieren reibungslos, ab 14h00 das Zimmer verfügbar. Warten in der Lobby oder im Café auf der idyllischen Terrasse am Klong. Info über das fertige Zimmer gab es dann per Anruf. Das Zimmer im 1. Stock des Anbaus war sehr nett eingerichtet, hatte die ein oder andere Stolperfalle (Stufe ins Bad und . Stufe zur Toilette), die man sich besonders für nachts merken sollte. Aus der Frühstücksterrasse und dem Frühstück im 1.Stock des Haupthauses ließe sich mehr machen. Zumal man auch hier wieder den direkten Blick auf den Kanal hat. Die Getränke und Speisen im Café waren wirklich etwas für das Auge, was man sich allerdings auch bezahlen ließ. Die Preise hatten schon ein sehr homes Niveau. Die Lages des Hotels zum Floating Market war ideal. Am Ufer des Kanals entlang, vorbei an teils geschlossenen Geschäften geplant man in kürzester ins Zentrum des Marktes. An unserem Wochenende wurden die Stände bereits gegen 20h00 abgebaut und geschlossen. Aber wir haben ja noch das Hotel. Irrtum um 20h30 war alles dunkel, Service gab es nirgendwo mehr und selbst Automaten gab es keine. Besorgt Euch rechtzeitig etwas für den Abend. Bezaubern waren die Damen an der Rezeption, als es um die Fahrt zum Mae Klong Train Market ging, mit Ihrem Organisationstalent. Zwar gab es beim Preis ein Missverständnis, was das „Taxi“ Kosten sollte. aber das Bringen und Abholen hat hervorragend geklappt. Danke dafür. Das Chuchai Buri Sri ich zweigeteilt: der öffentliche Bereich, willkommen auch bei posenden Menschen für die Social Medias, bietet sehr viel zum Sehen und sich Wohlfühlen. Dieses lässt man sich auch gut bezahlen. Der Hotelgast erhält eben das, was er gebucht hat. Dach über dem Kopf, ein lieblos präsentiertes Frühstück mit Filterkaffee auf der Warmhalteplatte (Cappuccino oder Latte Macchiato gibt es nur im Cafe) einzeln verpackte Zutaten, Butter in der Wärme geschmolzen. Sicherlich ist es ein meckern auf hohem Niveau, doch habe ich hier den Eindruck: Mehr Schein als sein. Und es war trotzdem schön !

Great hideaway place to wind down after a hard-working period of job. The river view room offered a big spacious area and the bed is comfy and offered big area to roll around. The Wifi was super-fast and the minibar cooled down my drinks superbly. The complaints are mainly about the jacuzzi, which was nice, but the water spray was way too weak. Also, the water in the swimming pool had a funny, chlorine taste. But all these stuff was largely compensated by the delicious breakfast buffet with fabulous river view.

I have returned to China, the hotel is a very cute cabin, the room is clean, the breakfast is rich and delicious, the landlord is very enthusiastic, the hotel is a long time away from Maeklong Railway Market and the floating market, because I want to see the fireflies in Amphawa and don’t want to rush When I went back, I chose to spend the night with my boyfriend. As soon as I checked in, the landlord told us the route. It took a few minutes to get a tuk-tuk to Maeklong Railway for 60 baht and it was very close. It’s ok to walk to the Amphawa Floating Market for more than ten minutes. I went to the floating market to eat first, watch the sunset, make a boat and watch the fireflies leisurely. In the evening, I played with fireworks at the door of the wooden house. The next morning I went to Maekong to watch the train. Anyway, it was very pleasant. When I went to Maekong, the landlord was on the way. Drive us past, thank the landlord for the hospitality, and will stay at see you☺️

Location is about 1km away from the railway station. Not too far away but there's a few hotels which are nearer. Check in and out was fast. I didn't see anything written about asking for deposit on the website. It just happened that was my last 2 nights in Ratchaburi and most of my Thai baht were finishing soon. Cleanliness was good. It will be better if the room was given instant coffee. The worst I should say about the stay was the wifi. Overall for the price I paid, it was still worthwhile. Clean room and peaceful environment to rest.

Quite simply one of the highlights of our stay in Thailand. Firstly the room was large, had a very comfy bed, decent size fridge & plenty of seating. The bathroom was modern, clean and restocked everyday with shampoo, shower gel, towels etc. We were on the second floor and the large balcony was wonderful. We sat outside most evenings. The room was incredibly clean. The free breakfast was significant & full of variety. Not only was there coffee, juices, toast and jams, meats, salads & egg. But each morning we were also treated to home cooked specials including congee & chicken rice. All delicious. Breakfast is taken alongside the river which sits on the edge of the property. A really beautiful spot. In terms of location Amphawa floating market is just a 5 minute tuk tuk away from the property. It’s also walkable in around 20 minutes. In the other direction can be found a seven eleven, numerous riverside coffee shops & restaurants. There’s also several temples nearby. The maeklong railway market can be reached from the resort by tuk tuk in around 20 minutes. Alternatively you can take a Songthaew from Amphawa. A superb & very reasonably priced eatery can be found just outside of the resort’s main gate. Guests (including us) seemed to eat there most nights. Our hosts were wonderful and so kind. They even did our washing for us free of charge! It was such a pleasure to spend time at the resort. In fact the entire town was filled with some of the friendliest people we’ve ever met. I would highly recommend walking around the local area and seeing what you can find.

The customer service responded in a timely manner, and helped us communicate with the taxi driver when we checked out. The front desk lady was very gentle and polite. English was not bad. I chose to book at Khum Damnoen Resort to have an authentic experience near the floating markets and the Mae Klong railway market. Being used to five-star hotels, I was curious (and a little anxious) to see how this local option would fare in terms of comfort and services. We opted for a lakeside villa with a jacuzzi, which turned out to be a real haven of peace despite a few areas under construction. However, the room was strangely narrow and had a low ceiling. The bathroom clearly left something to be desired: it was small, not air-conditioned, and had an impossible-to-close window that let in heat and humidity. There was also very little storage space, both in the bathroom and in the bedroom, which is not suitable for long stays. However, it remained well equipped with bathrobes, slippers, welcome products, and a minibar. A negative point was the key to the safe, huge and with the room number written on it, which was not practical at all and even counterproductive in terms of security and confidentiality. The hotel has a very large swimming pool, but there were no lounge chairs available except those reserved for the poolside villas. Khum Damnoen Resort also offers various services such as massages, River Kwai activities and bicycle rentals. We only stayed one night and didn't have time to enjoy it. Another disappointing aspect of the hotel is the lack of consistency in design. The different accommodation options seem to have no relation to each other. We observed: - lakeside chalets, with antler chandeliers, - a colonial building, covered in ivy, with corridors that look like a haunted mansion, - villas by the swimming pool, in front which are arranged the only deckchairs which must be occupied by those who use the swimming pool. They also had a slipper bathtub on the terrace, visible to all. Curious… Likewise, the furniture and decorative elements of the hotel, some of which are very cheap, seem to have been added gradually, thus contributing to this impression of incoherence. The staff was numerous, but often overwhelmed. Upon arrival, there were 5 or 6 receptionists crowded behind the desk for just two customers checking in. This impressive number of staff for not much was particularly felt in the restaurant where the service was long and very confusing. We walked around the restaurant when all the tables were free before being seated. There were a lot of giggling waiters. Mastery of English was extremely limited, mr.
