Situated along a peaceful country road in a farming and hunting community, this cottage offers a cozy retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Gather with loved ones in the warm and inviting living room, featuring a gas stove that mimics the look of a real wood-burning fireplace (seasonal availability). The fully-stocked kitchen has all the essentials you need to cook full meals, and the spacious dining room features a table that seats 6. Start your day off right with a fresh cup of coffee from the coffee bar. With 2 large bedrooms (1 on main level and 1 upstairs), this cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children. Spend afternoons lounging on the front porch, or fire up the grill on the back deck, just steps away from a tranquil stream. In the evenings, gather around the fire pit under a large rock for a night of roasting hot dogs and s'mores. The George Washington and Jefferson National Forest is just a 5-minute drive away, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is just 15 minutes away. Tackle off-road adventure through the unpaved national forest access roads, best accessed with a truck or SUV. Within 25 minutes, you can enjoy fishing at three different lakes or multiple trout streams, or take a 20-minute drive to the James River. There is also an off-road ATV trail 15 minutes away. If you're visiting Lynchburg's universities, you'll be just 35 minutes away. There is a security camera that monitors the driveway/parking area and front of the house. Other things to note We recommend fueling up and stocking up on groceries and other essentials before arriving. Gas stations and a Dollar General are about 15 minutes away and Walmart in Madison Heights is 25 minutes. Another tip is to pre-download the area using G maps offline feature. Cell service is spotty around the house and National Forest areas. A tv with a Roku stick is available to connect with your streaming accounts.
