On arrival around 11.20 pm I get a room where the cleaners have absolutely not been in!!
Dirty room, no towel, cups, shampoo to be found. The best man at the reception offered me another room with 2 separate beds and that is exactly what I was not waiting for!!
In one word a drama.
Really never a Bastion Hotel again.
Always stayed at van der valk hotel and never had any problems, if it should be the case, it will be solved for you very quickly.
In the photo you can immediately see how I found the bed upon arrival. Bah

This is my second stay here and it was a lot worse than my first! I accidentally got blood on my duvet so asked for it to be changed to the young indifferent/arrogant receptionist who promised it would be. I’ve just come back in from my days work and the bed has been made but the duvet has not been changed for the second day in a row! The dirty coffee cups are still here and the bins haven’t been emptied, although they’ve cleaned the bathroom. I now need to go and complain again to try to get it sorted but they’ll tell me again, sorry no cleaning staff here to do it at this time! Very slack standards in this place and indifferent staff. Do not recommend a stay here!

After reading bad reviews I was sceptical about staying here. However when I arrived the hotel check in was swift and the receptionist was lovely. Got up to the room and it was cleaned to a very high standard. The bed was extremely comfy and there was plenty of space in the room. I was looking over the highway but this didn’t affect sleep as the windows are double lined. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice. And the hotel lobby had great vibes in the evening as everyone was watching the football.

I'm currently staying at the bastion hotel, we arrived late on Sunday but the restaurant was still open, I'm here as a group on business and so far as a collective we seem very pleased with our experience, special mentions to Anouk and Ben who stand out as very professional!! And also all other staff at the hotel! I'm sorry as I've not had time to catch their names yet. If in the future I get the chance to travel to this area I will be very grateful if it is to this hotel!! Many thanks to the Bastion staff!!

Poor services
I’m staying at this hotel often in the last two years, but hotel services and comfort levels are dropping continuously.
- room very noisy from pipes or ceiling fan who never stopped during the night. Telling this issue to the receptionist looks like she was aware, other customers complained in the last month!!!
- no shampoo or towels left in the room after cleaning, need to ask reception…
- restaurant service terrible, waiting time for food, even if restaurant is half empty is very long and unprofessional service
