The first stop on our two week driving holiday in France. We drove from Nantes airport to Amboise arriving at the hotel 2 1/2 hours later. It was easy enough using the navigation system. Keep in mind, the approach to the hotel is a bit tricky. You have to hang a right into a parking lot in front of the hotel, drive to the end, then turn a sharp left onto the hotel road…the parking lot is through a gate on the right. The hotel is small, cozy and welcoming. The hotel DOES have an elevator, not sure why people said there wasn’t. It is an old manor with some imperfections… but that is part of the charm! The warmth and friendliness of the hosts, the lovely architectural details and the bar/sitting area make Le Manoir so wonderful to come back to after a long day of exploring. Close to restaurants and the sights make it a perfect place to stay

Excellent attentive service, lovely room, beautiful and very convenient setting, just a short walk from the Royal Chateau. The food service in the garden included a limited but well-selected spectrum of dishes and nice wines were available.

This hotel is full of charm and warm hospitality. My husband and I stayed 3 nights in May and had a very large comfortable room with a very large bathroom, double sink. The room itself was not recently updated but it was large and roomy with sitting chairs and a coffee/tea area so we enjoyed all of the room but the bathroom looked freshly remodeled and it was very nice. We were about a 5 minute walk or so from the main pedestrian area depending how fast you walk and the hotel was nice and quiet. The outdoor dining experience was very nice in their courtyard with a modern pop up restaurant on wheels. The food and wine was excellent. We only had breakfast one morning as we were busy on tours for 2 days so grabbed a quick bite on the run but the breakfast room was delightful and pretty and had many delicious foods to eat. Coffee was made to order if you wanted. They provided a personal wake up call if you asked and also gave us the name/number of an associate who drove us to the train station in a nice car and picked us up on time for a reasonable fee. One evening we had a glass of wine in their large lawn area where they had really cute little French tables and chairs. We highly recommend Le Manoir Saint Thomas!
