Haven Cottage

Outstanding stay, the rooms were incredible with big caste iron baths and super comfy beds. Every amenity included in the room. Location is outstanding, walking distance to everywhere in Ambleside, hosts friendly and very helpful with fabulous breakfast choices, expertly prepared. Honesty bar and lovely sitting room and outdoor area to enjoy. Also the added benefit of on-site parking which is a must in this very busy, attractive little town.

Lovely 2 night stay in Haven cottage in Ambleside. Amanda and Mark were wonderful hosts, really welcoming - Amanda made us tea on arrival and a slice of her freshly baked cake! Everything about Haven Cottage was perfect, we would definitely recommend it.

Gracious hosts. Impecable rooms. First class service. The nicest place we've ever stayed whilst in one of our favourite places, Ambleside. No question. My partner and I believe this will be our go-to place to stay in Ambleside from now onwards. We couldn't recommend them highly enough.

We booked a 5 night stay so we could enjoy exploring surrounding areas and not have the bother of moving B&B's . So glad we did! First 3 nights we stayed in room 8 . A luxurious free standing bath and double shower with His & Her sinks. Amazing view with double doors to balcony and 2 relaxing chairs in room . The bed was comfortable with crisp white sheets and fluffy pillows! Unfortunately room was already booked on our last 2 nights so we were moved to room 3 . Double room with en suite shower very comfortable. Both rooms have toiletries and powerful hairdryers. Amanda and Mark were very welcoming and pre arrival we received txt messages giving us instructions on directions and parking . The parking was a great bonus to have. Best breakfast ! Recommend you try the rainbow smoothie! A good start to the day . All ingredients freshly made to our liking, the vine tomatoes and mushrooms were especially tasty . The breakfasts times were staggered and is was more relaxing to have the attention of Amanda and Mark . Nothing too much trouble , they were both genuinely interested in what we had done the previous day and what our plans for the day was! Our favourite trip out was to Buttermere, stopping off at the Honister Slate Mine. Amanda's suggestion and Marks directions! Outstanding scenery and we even witnessed Jets in training flying through the hills at Honister . It was like a scene out of top gun . An experience we will never forget . Location perfect just on edge of the town . Walking distance to a variety of eating places pubs and shops . Also a 20 minute walk to a beautiful waterfall .

Fabulous place. Great location. Wonderful hosts. Best b&b we’ve stayed in. Breakfast was phenomenal with an amazing choice to suit everyone’s tastes. Room was pristine. Perfectly situated very close to centre of Ambleside Free parking too Can’t thank our wonderful hosts enough. Definitely returning.

We recently stopped at Haven Cottage for one night on our way up to Scotland, and immediately wished we’d booked a longer stay! The property itself is beautifully decorated, cosy and peaceful. Our suite was really spacious. The cottage is ideally situated for a walk into Ambleside, down to lake Windermere or a day trip to other Lake District towns. The owners Amanda and Mark were so welcoming, and their commitment to sustainability and buying local produce was good to see. The breakfast menu was extensive. We highly recommend the cooked breakfast! Will definitely be visiting again.

An amazing place to stay. Super hosts and marvellous accommodation. Breakfasts were delicious and whole experience was totally relaxing. This is thanks to Mark and Amanda’s determination to ensure everything is perfect for a stress free stay - Thank you Amanda and Mark- much appreciated .

It was our first stay at Haven cottage and we really loved our stay! Perfect location, beautiful cottage, cleaned to a high standard. Amanda & Mark were great host, little things such as the home made cake & the honest bar add a nice touch. Parking included which is always helpful. The home cooked breakfast was delicious. The cottage has a lovely indoor & outdoor seating area which was nice to use. It felt very homely & comfortable. We plan on returning & would highly recommend!

We received a very warm welcome and offered tea/coffee on arrival. The accommodation is very clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. The bed was really comfortable and the shower probably the best I’ve experienced in a B&B. Breakfast was delicious and very well organised. Location is perfect for hiking routes and close to all the bars and restaurants if that’s what you’re after. All in all an excellent place to stay.
