Carpark was fairly straightforward although there is no light if you arrive late. But it’s no more than a straight 5min walk. The BNB itself is beautifully decorated and laid out, like brand new all over. Room was comfy, clean and good quality facilities. Hosts were friendly and easy going. Breakfast was excellent with a few choices made fresh (pre-ordered from the day before). The location is perfect, just down the road from the many bars shops & restaurants. Stayed for 3nights.

We have stayed here a few times and again this stay has been excellent and nothing to much trouble. Spotlessly clean and beautiful room. The dining room and stairs leading to the rooms are so inviting and homely. Great central location and secure parking is a few minutes walk away. We would highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

What a great place Ambleside is, with restaurants and the Lake within easy walking distance. Tracey and Kev are very welcoming. The Guesthouse is spotless, bed was really comfy, well stocked tea and coffee tray. Excellent breakfast. Great facility for parking car, secure and a few minutes walk.

The owners were friendly and accommodating. The guesthouse is located right in town and very near the bus station, which was very convenient for us as we did not have a car. Food was good and served right away. Room was nicely decorated and spacious. We were very comfortable.

Lovely, comfortable guesthouse with friendly accommodating hosts. We stayed for 2 nights in a comfortable bed. The en-suite shower room had soap, body lotion and shampoo. The hairdryer is powerful enough for my thick hair!. Breakfast is pre ordered the night before and has a good selection of cereals and build your own hot choices. The location is excellent, just a few minutes from the main town. There is also a secure private car park a short walk away. Would recommend a stay here.

We absolutely loved the Melrose Guest house and is by far the best BB we have ever stayed in. Our room was spacious and stylish. The bathroom was very modern. Rooms cleaned daily, tea and coffee restocked. Breakfast is tailored to your individual taste with loads of great options. The house is located in the centre of Ambleside, 2-5 mins walk from bars, restaurants, shops. And to top it off Kevin and Tracey are perfect hosts. Friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be back.

Lovely stay, the full English was amazing with so much else to choose from. Bedrooms were nice and spacious, clean and tidy. Lovely hosts very friendly and keen to make our stay the best. Could not of bettered our expectations. Would recommend 100%

This is a really really well run place right in the heart of Ambleside. The bedroom and bathroom were immaculately clean, the bed super comfy and the breakfast was delicious. Tracey and Kevin are delightful, and welcoming. They deserve all the good reviews they are very good at what they do.

Ambleside is a great location for exploring the Lake District. We had a great stay at Melrose Guest House. The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely renovated. The bathroom was also very clean and the rain shower/wand shower combo was delightful after a long day of hiking. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options. Kevin and Tracey were lovely hosts and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. We would highly recommend this accommodation and will look to book again when we’re back in the Lake District.
