2 Cambridge Villas B & B

We visited with friends over the lights weekend in Ambleside. We enjoyed our stay. We had the smaller rooms on the second floor - small but nice. The best part of the weekend was the hospitality of Rod and Kate. They are so friendly and welcoming. Our cosy double was just that - but nothing overall wrong. The heating/radiators are a little cold and it might help if these were on longer in the colder weather but it wasn’t uncomfortable. Some small cleanliness issues in showers but we it wasn’t a major issue - it’s always a difficult one to keep on top of everything completely.

Our hosts Rod and Kate were both very welcoming, helpful and friendly and keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay and had all we needed. We booked the family room (ensuite) and our youngest son was staying with us – which was ideal for us. Our room and the B&B in general was clean and tidy. The breakfasts were nice, with a good range of options and to order to suit each guest together with a range of times to eat (with the option for special requests when needed) – which was ideal for us. The B&B is very centrally located with easy access to local amenities, shops and restaurants a short walk away. We managed to park overnight in Church Street when we arrived (in the dark) and used the parking pass at the Football Club during our stay, which was only a short walk away. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely consider a return visit in the future and recommend to friends, family and others.

Enjoyed our stay. Comfortable room, good shower, very nice breakfast. Excellent location in the heart of Ambleside. Free parking. Rod was really friendly and happy to help us when required. The owners are relatively new having taken over the B&B this year (we stayed last year too with different owners). Looking forward to returning again in the future.

We have just spent 3 nights here as part of our first trip to the Lake District and were not disappointed! The B&B itself is a charming Victorian townhouse a couple of minutes from the town centre and is handily located on a quiet street as well a close to many links to other popular areas. The room was light, bright and cosy with wonderful pillows and bedding on a comfortable bed. Our host Kate was warm, welcoming and friendly, taking the time to chat with us at breakfast each morning. The breakfast itself was delicious and plentiful with a wide variety of options available. We are already planning our next trip back to the Lakes and will definitely stay here again. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

The BnB was lovely, the bed was very comfortable and there was permit parking, the breakfast was great and Kate the host was really attentive. Loads of cafes, restaurants and pubs with great turns on close by to visit with shops and also very close to walking paths

A great place to stay in Ambleside. Located in a nice central spot, with parking right outside and then a further private parking space if needed close by. Clean and well appointed and included a beautifully cooked breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble.
