This is a quiet and well kept resort. It's a bit of a golf cart ride from the city, but it's worth it. If you're looking for tranquility in the form of sitting on the beach with a book or simply watching the sunset on the dock this is the place. There's a great little restaurant and bar, three pools (one of which does not allow children) and the service is awesome. We'll continue to go back to Sapphire beach each time we visit Ambergris.

This place was awful. Very far north and the word "Resort" is used liberally. These places are owned by individuals and the vibe of the "resort" is very strange and not very family friendly. At a cost of $200 per night this place is a ripoff. I would say $50 a night would be more in line with what you get. The food at the restaurant is bad, the portions small and it is also expensive. When we were there the power went out twice, once in the evening into the night (5 hours). The "resort" made no effort to provide candles or flashlights. Very little effort is made to make you comfortable or help with anything. When I asked if I could borrow a fishing pole to fish on their pier the response was "We are working on that, several guests have asked us for this." How hard can this be? I think this is a perfect example of what you get here, very little effort to make your stay comfortable and fun. The pools were fun but not a kid friendly atmosphere, I made a mistake in staying here with my family and we left a day early and went closer to town which was amazing. If you have children I would suggest elsewhere.

Beautiful contained resort. Very nice grounds, well kept. Rooms were spacious, clean, well supplied and offered great wifi and visual media. Staff was helpful and attentive. Housekeeping was excellent. Great stay, lovely pools and beach. Property is located 10 miles from San Pedro. Road is slow and rough. There is a dedicated taxi company associated with resort. That was helpful and efficient to be picked up at airport and return to depart. Cost is $100 return trip. We enjoyed our stay at the resort. Be aware that it is a distance and large expend to travel back and forth to San Pedro. Golf carts are for rent, but the cost and effort is not likely worth it. Would recommend property to families and couples.

Wonderful north island resort. Far from San Pedro on a very bumpy road but we were looking for quiet relaxing so it was worth the drive. Great staff, so helpful and welcoming. Clean property with great security. Beautiful beach. Some additional outdoor loungers would be nice. Front desk reception (Heidi) arranged a snorkel tour with Amigos del Mar tours. Kyle and Bert were the best guides and so fun. They made our trip a worthwhile experience. Looking forward to a return to sapphire next year.

Sapphire Beach is like a little village in a secluded area north of San Pedro. The condos vary in size, but most units are private in their setting, with beautiful palm trees and white sand throughout. There are three pools, a tiki hut bar, and best of all a beautiful beach with piers going into the water. They have an on site restaurant serving three meals a day and the food is outstanding. The only downside is although they have many activities to offer, for most you have to go into San Pedro (about 30 minutes away) and for some of the better adventures you have to go to San Pedro, then take a water taxi to Belize for the adventure. Which is pricey and time consuming (about two hours altogether. If you just want to kick back and relax, it’s a very affordable vacation!

This resort is far from town, and a golf cart is a must to get around. The resort has 3 small pools with no umbrellas for shade. On-site is one small restaurant. On the plus side, if you want peace and quiet, this is it. Staff are friendly and helpful. Strongly advise when visiting to bring coconut oil and benadryl as the no- see-ums ( sandflies) were aggressive during our visit.

I can't say enough good things about Sapphire Beach resort. The staff are amazing; helpful and friendly and communicative. You aren't just a rando person staying at the resort, you're a guest; they know you and want to make sure you have an amazing experience. I was a little unsure about the distance to San Pedro town - it's not insignificant, but it also means a private beach, quiet days and nights, and a peaceful stay. I loved our stay here. Gem restaurant - the closest option - is excellent. Their happy hour specials are absolutely wonderful. They also had special food nights with outdoor dining, live music, super festive drinks, and fabulous food.

A nice boutique like resort far from San Pedro city, between 9 and 10 miles. Pro: 1. Entire staff is super friendly and helpful, from front desk to restaurant to grounds maintenance 2. Front desk will help you setup tours - be mindful they'll set up tours with whom they have partnerships with 3. Cart for rent available onsite, limited, but they'll help you setup golf cart rentals with others 4. AC within the unit worked without issues and it was cold ! 5. Plenty of drinking water available within the room, daily 6. Small but not too small unit 7. Grounds were always being maintained 8. Distance away from San Pedro and most other local areas helps keep it quiet 9. Small kitchen, great for making small dishes Con: 1. Distance from San Pedro means a long golf cart ride to just about anywhere 2. Restaurant meal costs are higher than most restaurants, most items with smaller portions too compared to other restaurants 3. Food taste was both a hit and miss (breakfast, lunch, dinner) 4. Salty water from the faucet taps 5. Visibly saw bowls and pitchers that were placed in cabinets that were still wet - this will create smells and mildew 6. One of the blankets from closet had an odd smell, as if it was placed into the closet while it was still damp
