Excellent staff and they prepared a special gift for us for our wedding ceremony, even they were only be told upon our arrival. Meals are very well presented and delicious. Spacious hotspring and room as well. Highly recommended.

The hotel is not a fancy one, but the staff members (mostly elderly ladies but one or two of them have very good English) are all very nice. Its award-winning food service is definitely a must-try here, especially the dinner as it comes with sunset view. We were lucky to be arranged a window seat and was able to enjoy the beautiful sunset while eating the delicious kaiseki dinner. Breakfast is also very nice. And because it’s not your typical touristic destination, you are getting a very good value for money.

The room is big but a little old. You can watch the sunset at night. The location is good. The hot spring bath is big but there is no outdoor. It is safe. The breakfast and dinner are very good. The service is warm and thoughtful.

The weather was very nice and the sunset was beautiful.
It was Golden Week and the price was 58,000 yen for two people.
I was looking forward to the food, but they didn't even serve spiny lobster.
For about 20,000 yen per person per night, I would be happy with the dinner.

It was my first stay in about 40 years, staying at Shimoda Onsen Boyokaku for two nights.
The building was old, but it was well-cleaned and had a clean feeling.
I had a good feeling from the very beginning of my stay.
I was impressed by the excellent service of the male shuttle staff, which also made the food delicious.
It's really wonderful to have an inn with staff like that.

Very nice staff and great hotel. The pool is only open in the summer months. Dinner can be booked as an option. There is no beach in the village and few other restaurants or places to go out.
