RR Alvor Baía Resort

Outstanding! We just spent 2 weeks here and will definitely be back. The 1st thing you notice is how spotlessly clean everything is. The rooms are cleaned daily, they even made new towels into swans on my daughters bed. The toilets all around the hotel, pool, restaurants are cleaned every 15 mins. The staff must get a bonus for cleaning because if there not serving drinks, they are busy cleaning the bar, the coffee machines etc. The snack bar in the morning and afternoon is great if you miss breakfast or lunch, 4pm everyone goes to get a free ice cream. The all inclusive buffet is pretty good, serving proper kebabs at lunch and a decent variety of other fresh food. Drinks are great with the pool bar (usually 3 staff serving) and inside bar serving beers, wine spirits and cocktails. There's also bars in the restaurants where you can get beers ect too. The staff from check in, bar & restaurants, cleaners are all soo helpful and friendly. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Entertainment is good but the same each week, so if your there for 2 weeks your probably going out more evenings on week 2. Alvor has soo many places to eat, we ate out alot but that's just our choice. We discovered to GLOVO app (Same as Just eat) and had a couple of indian meals delivered and a KFC. The room has a microwave, fridge, plates and cutlery. The swimming pool is MASSIVE!! It has two ends that gradually deepen to its max depth of 1.4 metres. This was great for playing games with the kids and because its soo long, theres always space to swim properly if you wish. No need to get up at stupid o'clock to save sunbeds, there's loads of room.

I was surprised how clean this hotel is, there’s always staff cleaning, pool toilets are cleaned every 15mins. The pool is massive and never had issues with finding a sunbed. Even the lifeguards go round and take towels off sunbeds at 1030 which aren’t being used. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food halls are split between families with under 12 and over 12s, the food variety in my thoughts was really good. Was always something to choose, plus theme nights and bbqs. Entertainment is good throughout the day, always something on for the little one. The hotel is about 15/20min walk from alvor harbour/beach. There’s a bus that travels between the hotel and the beach. I would book this hotel again, we really enjoyed our time here.

Overall we had a nice 4 days at this hotel but glad we didn’t book for longer. The room was clean and spacious and a lovely big balcony with gorgeous views. The pool was nice & clean and absolutely massive and we didn’t have any problem getting beds. There are the usual sad people that have to put their towels out at the crack of dawn but as long as you don’t mind being a bit further away from the pool it’s fine. The free bus to the beach is great and what a beautiful beach it is! We paid €31 for 3 of us for a cabana for the day and it was so worth it. Be warned though, the sea is freeezing. The cocktails included in the all inclusive are on tap & pretty disgusting and the food isn’t great either. The breakfast isn’t too bad with plenty of choice so there’s always something you can eat and lunch was ok but same things every day. We only went once in the evening and wasn’t impressed at all so ate in town the rest of our holiday. We walked into town in the evenings and loved it, lots of pretty little streets & some amazing restaurants. My daughter made a cheese roll one morning to take back to the room for later as the snacks were so limited and she was made to feel like a criminal. They made her throw it away rather than just say it’s not allowed and don’t do it again. There’s no signs saying you can’t do that and I saw lots of people doing it. I would return but not to this hotel.

We stayed as a party of 10 and I have to say I have no complaints about this hotel. Ticks all the boxes required for a 4 star. Pool was massive, plenty of room for the kids to play and always got a sun lounger. Staff were friendly and attentive. Queues at the bar not bad, all about timing. Food was of a decent standard and plenty of variety. Sometimes it was a bit cold depending on what time you went down but we used the on site microwave to give it a quick blast back to life. Facilities and location good, free bus to the beach a bonus and taxis to/from the town centre very cheap.
