RR Alvor Baia Resort

Just on our last day now. Have stayed as a family of three... Me, my partner and our toddler. Have had a lovely week and really enjoyed our stay. We found the kids pool to be great as it's a nice depth where we could let our son play around on his own and juts keep a watch from the bed... Great to be able to have a slight bit of chill time! The main pool next to the kids pool is good as it had a gradual slope down into deeper water so if he ever wondered over there we had time to get up and get to him (no worry of him suddenly going under!). The kids play area was a nice size and under cover of the sun. There is a kids club but kids have to be 4 to go there. You can go if you have a younger child and join I'm of you like.... We never did but good to have the choice of we wanted. I loved the food as there as always fresh fish dishes and loads of salad variations. My partner is more of a meat eater and he never struggled to find something nice. There was a kebab man there most lunch times which was lovely. They also have a lower kids section where they can help themselves and the food is more basic which my toddler prefers. I guess if you were here more than a week it might become a bit repetitive.... But we always found something as a big selection. Drinks were all fine... Staff were all very friendly and happy. We have had decent weather and been busy the pool most days but yesterday and today are a bit cooler and cloudy. I find it's a good time of year to come away as it's a lot quieter... Bit a bit of a risk with the weather I guess. Rooms are lovely size too with a big balcony so lots of space for our boy to run around. If you're a morning coffee type of person I suggest bringing a travel kettle as there is a Kitchenette to use. The only entertainment we joined on was the kids disco which was on at 8.30 for half an hour or less so I can really comment on that. My son loved it. The nearby beach was beautiful and you can then walk to the harbour and into the town which was quaint. All in all a great week away.

Just returned home from a lovely week in the Baía hotel. Our overall experience was very good. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly. We particularly recommend David P and Antonio M in the pool Bar. In the Restaurant it was always a lovely welcome from Ines. The rooms are lovely and spacious. No noise. The bottle of water every day is a great touch. The food would not have been a highlight for me but it was perfectly adequate. The salads and Fish were always lovely. I would return as overall it is a lovely Hotel. It’s only a 15 walk into Alvor town. The Train that leaves from the hotel is lovely and only €4 return per person. As an all Inclusive it’s good value for money.

Really lovely stay for 7 nights here hotel really clean and staff lovely. Food was probably one of the best all in I've been to, even if your a fussy eater. Would definitely return.

Visited with family,it was a large sprawling hotel, with lift access to all floors, spotlessly clean, staff bar and poolside, and housekeeping all friendly and helpful. Reception staff need further training as my experience found them to be unhelpful. It felt like the hotel hadn't really got going into the season ... But that's no excuse if you've paid and expect things to be up and running. The animation team did their best, but we were not fully staffed,the entertainment rarely ran to advertised. Special mention for Luna, she was a little star, good enough for the westend,... The kids club is well managed when ana-louise is in , but falls apart at weekends when she's off. They playground is great for kids, but they still need supervision, saw a few accidents while we were there. Kids pool is great, but the large pool was freezing. We expected that. The spa and heated pool is expensive... Even though the sauna wasn't working. I have never been to a hotel where you have to pay for a room security box... About a £10er for a week, £20 refundable for a pool towel... And they won't take cash or debit card... The food was basic but good, lots of fish as you'd expect, but too much chips and nuggets!... the sound and bread fresh fruit were highlights of our week. Kids disco was great for our little ones, but only for half an hour wasn't really enough. I'm sure when in full swing this hotel is great, but if you go early in the season.... Don't have high expectations.

Hotel lovely and clean, staff very friendly, food excelent, plenty of choices. Beds comfortable. Kitchenette, with all the necessities except a kettle, which I think should be included. Plenty of room with the extra space and settee and TV in the sitting area. A nice balcony. Outside, plenty of sun loungers, and an enornmous pool (largest I have ever seen at an hotel) Play area for children Would recommend and would visit again

Hotel was amazing ,very clean very tidy ,polite and friendly staff throughout, always helpful and on hand to cater for our needs , an extra mention for Anna Luisa in the entertainment team excellent with the children . Highly recommend a stay

Everything is great at this hotel, food, service and rooms. They just need to sort out the smoking/vaping situation. Everyone is smoking everywhere which isn't the best when you are sat with your kids trying to enjoy a relaxed drink. Some people even left their own kids to sit and smoke by mine FFS. Other than that it is great . The pools freezing and beer served in 200ml glasses but overall it's great. Just sorting out designated smoking areas as per universal/ Disney do.

Mine & my daughters first time in Portugal. Family holiday for my daughters 11th birthday here from 2nd to the 9th April 2024 . Staff are friendly and hard working .They go out they're way to meet your needs .Hotel is the most beautiful hotel I've stayed in .Abit pricey but worth every penny . Rooms cleaned daily we were left fresh towels everyday so far since we've been here . And bottle of water most days but if you need water ask the cleaners they will give you a bottle . Food is met to everyone's needs depending on what you like . If you come to Alvor baia please try there oranges if you like them they are the most tasty oranges 🍊 I've had in my life .Pool is huge .Cold first time you jump in ( or my case my hubby pushed me in .) Little tip don't get a taxi portimao you can walk there and back within about an hour .Taxi will try and charge you about €30 .There's nothing there .But my hubby enjoyed the walk there and back .Just sad to be leaving on Tuesday
